BMW R-Series description

 2 owner original condition survivor. Bought from a 76 year old gentleman. He owned it since 1980. Only non stock original items are new tires, fuel lines, side cover decals and new BMW plug wires. Paint is beautiful, no dents, couple of minor scrapes on front fender. Some oxidation here and there. Chrome is coming off mirror stems. Bike runs like new, everything works great. Need more photos or closeups, just ask. Listed locally.

Von Kuenheim was speaking at a press launch for the BMW C600 Sport and C650GT scooters but took a moment to discuss racing with MotoGP.com. Such speculation about BMW entering Grand Prix racing may sometimes be dismissed as idle musings, but the fact the interview was with MotoGP’s official website holds some significance.

BMW has officially introduced their literbike contender:  The 2009 BMW S1000RR. The pertinent numbers are a claimed 193 horsepower (at the crankshaft) and a 403.5-lb claimed dry weight. In a ready-to-ride form including fuel, BMW says to expect 450 lbs of weight.
