BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
Worth is an IRS
registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization teaching at-risk youth the
art of vintage motorcycle restoration.
All proceeds donated to Worth Motorcycle Company Scholarship Fund. The training program is offered at no cost to participants, and this is how we're able to do it. Worth rebuilds, restores, and/or re-imagines vintage BMWs. Under the supervision of trained technicians, this 1976 BMW R60/6 has been completely rebuilt by the young apprentices at Worth Motorcycle Company. Because it was so popular (ebay wont allow me to post a link but you can find the bike on Silodrome by searching Worth), we've made an (almost) exact replica of the first R60/6 we built. Although we've made several upgrades, the pictures were so good, we used many of those same images again here. The last few images show the motorcycle in a gallery exhibit showcasing a few of Worth's bikes. A parts list has been included just below, but please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. 1976 R60/6 375 lbs (wet) Black tank with BMW factory spec, bone white, handlaid pinstriping Billet Monza gas cap Custom, fiberglass tail section with leather seat and embedded BMW roundel Shortened front fender Shortened subframe Powdercoated and de-tabbed frame Brand new Metzler Sportec Klassik: 3.25/19 front, 4.00/18 rear Excel Rims (front and rear) laced with stainless spokes and nipples Custom Works Performance Shocks Race Tech fork internals with Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators Flatracer Stainless steel and phosphorus bronze preload adjusters Toaster Tan top yoke Woodcraft 3-piece split clipons Magura grips, OEM levers, and switch housings Tarozzi Rearsets Cone Engineering 'shorty' reverse cone silencers Emgo Headers Del'lorto Carbs with modified intakes Posh billet turn signals Yellow halogen headlamp Motogadget Tiny, Analog Speedo embedded in headlamp bucket Motogadget m-Unit v2 Motogadget m-Button Motogadget wiring harness Antigravity small case, 12-cell, lithium-ion battery Enduralast starter Enduralast II alternator kit Euro Motoelectric Digital Ignition System with crank mounted optical sensor Dynatek Dual Tower ignition coil NGK spark plugs and cables Lightened flywheel Rebuilt motor with new hardware, gaskets, seals, washers, springs, piston rings Honed cylinders Rebuilt valve seats Converted dual timing chain to single Stainless steel hardware replacement kit All new brake lines and clutch cables We will help to coordinate shipping. Small Adventure Bike, Big Adventure Dreams
Thu, 15 Feb 2024The long-term KTM 390 ADV Project Photos by Joe Jackson If you’ve had a pulse the last five years or so, you’ve noticed the urge to take two wheels into the dirt has swept through the motorcycle community like a rogue wave. Riders across age ranges, experience levels and even financial demographics have turned to off-road, not instead of, but in addition to any and all riding they were previously doing. So it’s no surprise to see small-sized ADV bikes plodding along behind the surge like the sure-footed mules that they are.
More on 2012 BMW S1000RR Recall
Fri, 27 Apr 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.
CFMoto 650TK Riders Set Record with 21,222-Mile Tour of China
Fri, 20 Dec 2013A couple of adventurers have claimed a new world record for longest journey by motorcycle in a single country after completing a 21,222-mile trek around China. Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson completed their trek, traveling all 33 of China’s provinces in 147 days on a CF Moto 650TK sport-tourer. Guinness World Records still needs to ratify the couple’s journey, but if it stands, they will have surpassed the previous record of 18,041 miles set by Steven H. Siler earlier this year, after he completed his 26-day trip around the U.S.
