BMW R-Series description

We have here is a clean for the year well taken care of 1974 BMW R90 with a side car. She runs out great with no oil consumption and with only a few drops a month from down under. Both carburetors have been rebuilt and a complete tuneup with valve adjustment was performed where needed. Now She purrs like a large cat. The brakes have had the master cylinder rebuilt and the system has been flushed and works as designed. The electrics for the bike work well with small repairs an patches done over the years, the harness is still flexible and should have many years on service left. The rear tire is older crack free showing deep tread and is proper side car equipment, the front tire has been replaced with a new one that was installed after the photos. A new battery has been installed correctly sized for the bike, but hold down is not present. The side car is an American that was made in California, I believe, and has been on the bike since it was new,.. it uses a torsion spring. She has a dealer installed Windjammer that can be removed for a cleaner more original look (the original headlight bucket is still installed so minimal parts needed for removal also no key for glovebox). Other extras are, fork stiffener installed, upgraded road wheels, lockable saddle/storage bags (all keyed the same), adjustable rear shocks. Items that I feel will need attention to further complete this bike in the future are, Replace non working radio, front shock gators should be replaced, handle grips could be renewed, seat has one very small hole that could be patched, one side on engine is missing it's emblem, both side covers are missing (one is an attachment point for the side car), there is very light corrosion under the battery and inside the side car (this is the only corrosion that is present and is surface), paint work looks great for a driver but does have a few areas of wear and chipping (the tank has been nicely repainted a while back with new emblems installed). Bike history "as I have been told" is that a 30 plus year owner enjoyed this bike in the Akron, Ohio area and passed in 2008 ,.. It was in dry storage till 2014 when I purchased it,.. now it's time for a real enthusiast to enjoy her. Please email or call 330-258-0088 (ask for Kevin or James, this is a business number) if you have and additional questions,.. I do have the ability to store for an agreed time frame,.. ship common carrier,..or work with you to use a shipper of your choice,.. Also please note that I reserve the right to end auction early and that anything this old does not come with any warranty,.. also,..I always recommend you personally inspect (or send a company to inspect) this bike to make sure that it meets your expectations.

MINI Scooter E Concept Revealed

Thu, 23 Sep 2010

MINI has just officially revealed not one, but two of its MINI Scooter E Concepts that will officially debut at the Paris Auto Show next week. Created to bring together a youth-oriented lifestyle element and sustainable mobility, the scooters take significant design cues from the MINI lineup of cars while using a lithium-ion battery pack to deliver guilt-free mobility. Making the MINI E Scooter Concept almost excessively hip is its smartphone integration, where the owner’s iPod or similar device acts as the actual key for the scooter, clicking into a central docking station between the handlebars.
