BMW R-Series description

1972(built in 1971) BMW R75/5 Motorcycle

Over $10,000 invested!

I have owned this bike since 2012. From 2003-2004 it underwent a complete

frame-off restoration and rebuild. The bike is supremely road worthy and has done

several tours including the 1,200 mile Lake Michigan Circle Tour. It is in excellent

mechanical condition, but it is a road bike meant for riding. It starts on the 2nd turn

over, and only needs light choking when cold. The sale includes Krauser saddle bags

with soft case inserts and associated mounting brackets.

Mileage since rebuild: 6,400+/-

Clear Colorado Title in hand

Post rebuilt insurance appraisal of $8,000 with paperwork

New parts and components installed during the rebuild include:

Frame stripped and powder coated

New wiring harness

New seat cover

Triple tree rebuilt

Front struts rebuilt

New rear shock springs

All wheel and suspension bearings repacked

New brake pads

All new clutch, brake and throttle cables

All new lights

Halogen headlight upgrade

New plugs

New plug wires and caps

New Blue Lightning coils

New starter

New battery (2012)

EnDuraLast Electronic ignition(2013) $335.00

EnDuraLast 450w Charging System 105mm Stator (2013) $500.00

Engine rebuild:

New timing chain and tensioner

All new gaskets and rubber

New clutch and cable

New main bearing seals

New connecting rod bolts and bearings

New pistons

New piston rings

Cylinders bored and honed

New unleaded fuel friendly valves

New unleaded fuel friendly valve seats

New Valve covers and gaskets

Re-built Original Bings carburetors(2013)

The tank could use a new paint job. The rear tail light mounting bracket has light rust

and needs to be re-chromed or replaced.

Triumph Teases 2025 Speed Twin RS

Tue, 03 Sep 2024

A sportier Modern Classic is on the way Triumph has released teasers for a new addition to its Modern Classics lineup, which we believe to be a 2025 Speed Twin RS. No announcement date was provided, but we suspect the full reveal will be coming in the next month or so. The teasers, sent out on Triumph’s social media channels and an email update sign-up page on its official website, show a familiar-looking fuel tank shape with the letters “RS” clearly displayed.

Firefighting Motorcycle

Ever had an officer ask you “where’s the fire?” after being pulled over for speeding?  Well now you have a good excuse. This converted BMW R1200RT has two 20 or 25 liter tanks (contain a premix of water and foam) mounted on either side that is connected to a 6.8 liter compressed air tank on the back of the bike that has a 20 to 30 meter hose. They are currently being used in the U.K.
