BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
I have an original condition BMW R60/5. I honed the cylinders, put new rings and gaskets in it, cleaned the carbs, and it fired up. The seat is original and the original tire pump is even there! New battery, original tires that are rotted, but still hold air. The horn button on the left handlebar needs repair, and the headlight reflector and socket are missing. It came with a front crash bar and rear luggage rack, both of which I will throw in. The right petcock stem needs replacing. Most of the chrome is rough, but it might clean up. But it is pitted. The bike has been out of the DMV system for 25 years, so there will be no back fees. I have a bill of sale, no title.

2013 BMW R1250 Roadster Spy Photos
Mon, 11 Jun 2012[Ed.: The original spy photos have been taken down by request. Instead, here is a picture of the current R1200R model.] BMW is preparing to launch the ground-up redesign of its iconic R1200GS in a new 1250cc-or-so liquid-cooled Boxer powerplant, a speculative profile of which you can read about here. But there’s more Boxer-oriented news to come from BMW for 2013.
BMW Makes ABS Standard Across Entire Lineup
Tue, 03 Jul 2012BMW announced it will make anti-lock brakes standard equipment across its entire lineup starting with the 2013 model year. The German manufacturer became the first to introduce ABS into serial production motorcycles in 1988 and now 25 years later, BMW will be the first to offer ABS across all of its models. BMW has already announced two 2013 models that will come with ABS, the updated F800GS and the F700GS.
European Parliament Makes ABS Mandatory, Tighten Emissions Standards by 2016
Wed, 21 Nov 2012The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of new rules that would increase emission standards and make anti-lock braking systems mandatory for all new large motorcycles, scooters and trikes and quads by 2016. The new regulations, which would still need approval from European Union member states, may only directly affect Europe, but they will have a wide-reaching affect on manufacturers’ product development for other markets. BMW, for example, has already made ABS standard for all its motorcycles for 2013.
