Yes!! all 3 R69S in the background are for sale and will be listed shortly. Triple matching 1969 BMW R60/2. Perfect running R60 Special Order from Butler Smith in NY ( BMW East Cost Importer). The Triple matching # is 1817663 and it has special order “LK” heads and harden cylinders. Previous owner stated and confirmed with few senior collectors, BMW stop making any slash 2 in 1969 in their Munich factory and moved to Berlin and start produce /5 model. For customers whom wants a slash 2 and with connection, will go to dealer like Butler Smith and order a slash 2 with full amount paid in advance. BMW will go to their racing shop in Munich location use available parts on the shelf and hand made a slash 2. This one has Harden LK heads and cylinders, Large 6.5 SDT tank and aluminum wheels and with stainless spokes on them. And most odds things is it bears a R50US Factory ID tag and with R60 -181* number. We got 2 bikes from this collection, both them are odd special 1969 order( another one is a Odd R69S and both bikes has no sidecar log), this one mechanically is perfect as it just left factory yesterday and in original paints. The bike cold starts with first kick and idling smoothly, and it even start cold with one hand. When running it is dead silent even when clutch is pulled; the comment was given “ It ran like an electronic motor!!” . If you wondered how a /2 should sound while it idles, this is the textbook example. This bike is so original and function so well. Therefore, we decided leave this beautiful patina along and focused on the mechanic. We have gone through the whole bike with our high standard shop ready for road service, works performed were as followed: Replace with new set of factory header and mufflers. New Denfeld Seat. New set of seam Mufflers and headers New set of German made Heidenau tires with new tubes. Re true, Repacked bearing and balance the tires. Serviced brake shoes, both front and back. Safety checked/re-torqued on every single nuts and bolts on the whole bike. Re-adjusted front brake setting. Ensured all the wiring/lights functional. Re-set valve gaps to spec. Re-set ignition timing/gap. New spark plugs. Cleaned/lubed all the cables. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Serviced horn. New fuel lines Replaced all fluids (TWICE) (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). This bike wears this 50 years old patina paint lost, and paint touch ups, and front and rear fenders are still very solid. The inside of the gas tank is clean with factory red paint still attached. Key/lock for the gas tank storage door, and fully function. There is video of this bike on you tube for you to watch. BMW bling and new mittens

Fri, 08 Jul 2011

An hour and a half in my shed was all it took to bolt two boxes of goodies from R&G Racing on to my S1000RR. The casing covers (£190.00), cotton reels (£25.49 ), frame inserts(£21.00) and crash protectors (£67.99)are a doddle to bolt on and come with all the necessary allen bolts. The multi adjustable rearsets (£350.00) are equally as easy to fit (they must be if I can do it) and also come with clear instructions.

BMW Developing Organic OLED Lighting

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

BMW is developing a new organic light emitting diode lighting system for cars and motorcycles. Unlike conventional LEDs, organic LEDs (or OLEDs) uses wafer-thin semiconductive layers made from organic polymers to produce light. OLEDs are more efficient and emit less heat than LEDs.

BMW R12 Trademark May Be for an R NineT Successor

Tue, 22 Nov 2022

BMW Motorrad to mark 100th anniversary in 2023 Earlier this year, reports emerged that BMW had filed trademark applications for “R12”, with many predicting the name would be used on a new cruiser. The logic made sense, as the naming structure was similar to the R18, and BMW lacked a cruiser model in the 1200-ish range. We were a little less bullish on that theory at the time, and we suspected there was more to the story.
