Triple matching 1967 BMW R50/2 ~ 641561.we got 2 R50 bikes in last few months. This is one of them, this one mechanically is perfect as it just left factory yesterday. The bike cold starts with first kick and idling smoothly, and it even start cold with one hand. When running it is dead silent even when clutch is pulled; the comment was given “ It ran like an electronic motor!!” . If you wondered how a /2 should sound while it idles, this is the textbook example. This bike is so original and function so well. Therefore, we decided leave this beautiful patina along and focused on the mechanic. We have gone through the whole bike with our high standard shop ready for road service, works performed were as followed: Serviced brake shoes, both front and back. Safety checked/re-torqued on every single nuts and bolts on the whole bike. Re-adjusted front brake setting. Ensured all the wiring/lights functional. Re-set valve gaps to spec. Re-set ignition timing/gap. New Sealed 6 battery, New spark plugs. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Serviced horn. New fuel lines Replaced all fluids (TWICE) (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). Cleaned/lubed all the cables. New solo seat. New headlight ear mirrors. This bike wears this 50 years old patina paint lost, and paint touch ups, and front and rear fenders are still very solid. The inside of the gas tank is clean with factory red paint still attached. Key/lock for the gas tank storage door, and fully function. There is video of this bike on you tube for you to watch. WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.

Charley Boorman’s BMW R1200 GS Adventure Stolen – and Recovered

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

Adventure touring documentary star Charley Boorman and his BMW R1200GS Adventure have traveled a long way together, but the motorcycle had a bit of an adventure on its own after thieves stole the bike. The stolen BMW wasn’t the one Boorman rode with Ewen McGregor in “Long Way Round” (that was a R1150GS Adventure) or the one used in the sequel “Long Way Down“. Boorman did ride it on his last project, “Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers: Canada”.

Gold Rush

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Spotted at this year's Motorcycle Live. The 'net is awash with gold-wrapped and horrendously painted supercars, often sporting Middle-Eastern numberplates but this S1000RR isn't an Arab creation. Nope, it's a one-off paintjob by BMW for the 2012 Olympics, where BMW supplied cars and bikes to ferry around VIPs.
