BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
Very nice patina'd old Airhead BMW R60/2. Title follows the triple numbers matching R50/2 that is started out as. The previous Owner has the motor rebuilt to R60 specs when he had the motor gone through. He did not have the paperwork so I do not have it either. You can visually see the R60 cylinders on the motor and it runs beautifully. Since I've owned the bike, I've replaced the tires, all cables, battery, battery strap, air filter and cork base, plugs, plug caps, and had the carbs balanced. The bike starts on one or two kicks.
Like I mentioned in the description, the bike is unrestored. It cleans up nice and as a 10 footer admirable quality. Its a 50 year old bike with some nice looking patina. There are scratches here and there, and dent on the tank and some on the fenders. I have some more parts like springs and shocks and such that can go with the bike. |

2022 BMW R18B (And R18 Transcontinental) Review - First Ride
Wed, 01 Sep 2021Fast Facts Drivetrain unchanged from original R18 Self-leveling rear ride height Adaptive cruise control Amazing TFT screen Phone-based navigation Tank holds 6.3 gallons for 304 mile calculated range MSRP $22,590 (base) Riding 1,475 miles to see if the BMW R18B has the bagger chops to ease into this competitive market Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing As I pull the 2022 BMW R18B out of the underground parking of the hotel where BMW had hosted its new model introduction, I wonder if a 7:30 departure still qualifies as my crack-of-dawn goal. Within a couple of blocks, I’m fully embroiled in the peak Denver commuter bump-and-grind. Still, I settle into an easy rhythm of following the mechanical voice instructions paired with their informative visual counterparts on the massive TFT screen.
Fisker + Lego = the Lauge Jensen Viking Cruiser Concept
Thu, 17 Apr 2014What do you get when you bring together the designer of the Fisker Karma and the great-grandson of the founder of Lego? The answer is this cruiser concept model by Danish brand Lauge Jensen called the Viking. The company was formed in 2004 by bike builder Uffe Lauge Jensen but later sold to industrialist Anders Kirk Johansen, the scion of one of Denmark’s wealthiest families and great-grandson of Ole Kirk Christiansen who invented Lego building blocks.
2023 BMW M 1000 R Review - First Ride
Thu, 15 Dec 2022Excessive excellence Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jörg Künstle Nothing succeeds like excess – and by concocting the 2023 M 1000 R (or “MR” as they’d like us to call it), BMW is doing its best to confirm the truth of that axiom in a two-wheeled context. How else to characterize a Naked-as-Nature straight-Four hotrod with upright handlebar and no screen, which has a 14,600 rpm redline and produces a claimed 206.5 hp at 13,750rpm, with claimed peak torque of 83.3 lb-ft at 11,000rpm, that has a homologated/proven top speed of 174 mph and weighs just 438.7 lbs with all liquids, including a full 4.4-gallon tank of fuel? Consider that just a decade ago the factory S1000RR Superbike racer which BMW’s works riders Troy Corser and Leon Haslam raced in the 2011 WSBK series produced 216 bhp at 14,900 rpm, and it’s clear that the new MR super-roadster is a statement of intent that can’t be ignored.
