BMW Other description

 BMW HP2 S 2009 Number 0079

I have finally decided to part with my H2 Sport after 3 years of having the pleasure of owning and riding it. It is easily the best bike I have ever owned in a long career of fine motorcycles but I am past 60 now and looking for something less powerful. I bought it to ride so it has 17,300 miles but as you can see from the photos it is very well kept and cared for. The Michelin tires are new and it is serviced and ready to go. Included in the sale is the promo kit in a leather case.

I reside in Alameda CA, in the SF bay area, and may consider taking your bike, newer or classic, in trade if it can be viewed in the area.

These machines were essentially hand-built in very low numbers (best I can determine there were only about 400 built and 125 imported into the USA of which 15 were not offered for sale) and they are loaded with trick parts making them an instant collector’s item.  All other boxer BMW’s pale next to it and with 135 horsepower on tap and a dry weight of only 392 pounds, coupled with the best suspension and brakes that money can buy, it embarrasses other sport bikes in the mountains.

Here is a summary of the salient features of the bike:

·         Double Overhead Cam engine 135 HP engine

·         Four radial valves per cylinder

·         Speed shifter

·         All carbon fiber bodywork

·         GP dashboard

·         Ohlins front and rear suspension

·         Ohlins steering damper

·         Brembo radial brakes

·         Forged and milled lightweight racing wheels

·         San Jose BMW custom billet ride height adjustable linkage (stock one included)

·         Top speed – in excess of 160 mph.

I have lowered my reserve and am a motivated seller. The HP2 Sport is a unique bike and a pleasure to ride. You could treat yourself and fly to San Francisco (or Oakland) and ride it home for the adventure of a lifetime.

2008 was an interesting year in the world of motorcycles. But the biggest stories of 2008 have left some big questions for 2009. What’s in store for the New Year?

Charge Up you iPhone While You Ride

Fri, 12 Feb 2010

Motorcyclists can now enjoy total freedom on the open road confident in the knowledge that their cell phones, GPS, MP3 players and latest generation of iPhone/iTouch devices will remain fully-charged and in-service for the duration of the ride thanks to Powerlet’s plug and play systems. “Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices,” says Powerlet Products founder Adam Bonislawaski. “Before we came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire strippers and cut into their bike’s fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap cigar lighter to power their devices.

Mmmmm, Toasted

While some fortunate souls who live south of the Mason-Dixon line are able to ride their beloved beasts all year long, some are forced to put their hogs into hibernation by mother nature come winter time. Although most motorcyclists have little use for wintry weather, autumn is a truly beautiful time of year to ride. Granted, the days become shorter and the wind colder, but navigating your way through winding roads amid the vibrant colors of changing leaves is enough of a reward within itself.
