Selling my 2006 BMW F650GS Dakar. 6000 or best offer, 37K miles. All set up for your next adventure ride: has luggage rack with Caribou hard panniers, crash bars, metal reinforced handguards, Touratech low mud fenders and chain guard, new battery, and fresh registration/state inspection. Great bike for trails, adventure touring, or even just commuting. Has ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (can be turned off), electrical outlet, four gallon locking fuel tank, center stand, warmed handlebar grips, 21 in front and 17 in rear. The Dakar edition features an extra 3ins of suspension travel for tackling offroad rides. Very reliable, easy maintenance schedule. These engines are bulletproof and very efficient. I am only selling mine because I bought another BMW! If you want the bike shipped that is fine, but you will need to arrange that. I have a pretty crazy work schedule and can't set that up for you. BMW Sets New Annual Record for Motorcycle Sales – With One Month Still to Go

Even more impressively, BMW reached that mark by the end of November and still has a whole month’s worth of sales to pad its record. In 2012, BMW sold 106,358 motorcycles and scooters to set a new company record.
Turn your BMW into a fire engine
Wed, 16 Mar 2011German fire engine and pump manufacturer Rosenbauer have utilised the ubiquitous BMW 1200 boxer engine to produce a powerful and lightweight water pump. The engine runs as normal, using it's torqey qualities to power the high pressure waterpump attached. Firefighters can carry this compact pump closer to the fire, and go where the normal fire engine cannot reach.

Mon, 14 May 2012BMW earned its first-ever World Superbike race win at the U.K.’s Donington Park, but missed out on sweeping the round after teammates Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri crashed on the final corner while battling for the lead in the second race. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.
