2013 BMW R1200R, The all-round model R 1200 R is a truly multi-talented machine. The distinguished design, the well-developed DOHC flat-twin engine and the ingenious chassis with Telelever and Paralever make the R 1200 R a genuine Rock n Roll Roadster which will get the most out of every road in terms of riding pleasure. Visually speaking, the revision of the R 1200 R is once again a real eye-catcher. The purist lines and the even more refined finish demonstrate the powerful character of the machine. Circular instruments, a high-quality fork, the double-butted aluminum handlebars, beautiful cast wheels, a chrome muffler as standard and much more besides - all this reflects an attention to detail as far as the eye can see. Especially in the Classic version, with is absolute Rock'n'Roll for the eyes with a wide range of visual highlights such as spoke wheels, chrome features and an attractive paint finish in black and white. The air-cooled 2-cylinder twin engine offers a sonorous, throaty sound. After their appearance in the GS and R models, the two overhead camshafts and four radially arranged valves now see their debut here. Output has been increased to 81 kW (110 bhp), with a maximum torque which has also been raised to 119 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This means that the machine accelerates with even greater ease from low engine speeds, performing impressively in all situations on the road and delivers even greater pulling power. The special equipment include safety features such as part integral ABS, ASC and tire pressure control, comfort and tour-oriented features such as ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), case holders and windshield. There are some impressive motorcycle accessories available for the R 1200 R, too, with an extremely light Akrapovic exhaust made of titanium, practical system cases and eye-catching chrome cylinder head covers. Tue, 07 Jun 2011Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
2014 BMW NineT Spied – Lo Rider Concept Finally Coming to Life
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Germany’s Motorrad Magazin has uncovered new photos of an upcoming BMW motorcycle rumored to be called the NineT. We caught a glimpse of the boxer-engined roadster testing earlier this summer but the new pictures – snapped at a gas station in northern Italy – reveal three motorcycles that appear close to being ready for production. The name NineT recognizes the 90th year anniversary, and the new model references that history in its retro styling.
EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW S1000R Revealed
Tue, 05 Nov 2013BMW revealed a new naked version of its flagship S1000RR superbike, presenting the new 2014 S1000R at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan. Follow the rest of our 2013 EICMA show coverage The 999cc inline-Four engine has been retuned for low- to mid-range performance, with redesigned cylinder head ducts, modified cam profiles, updated engine management and a 2000 rpm reduction in the rev limit. BMW claims a peak output of 158 hp at 11000 rpm, compared to the S1000RR’s 193 hp claims.
