BMW Other description

2013 BMW R 1200 RT, COMMUTE IN COMFORTContact our BMW Client Advisor Chris Horrar for further details.2013 BMW R 1200 RTAs far as 2-cylinder fans are concerned, first-class touring has a memorable abbreviation - and it s been around for 30 years: RT. For long-haul travelers there can hardly be any other term which has always stood for perfectly conceived motorcycling concept from start to finish: excellent wind and weather protection, optimum ergonomics, highly convenient operation combined with a top-class chassis fitted with the unique optional extras ASC and ESA II.In the touring segment, these features probably define the ultimate benchmark of innovation. Even though the R 1200 RT cuts a superb figure everywhere with its dynamic new design, everything about it sends out the message: built to cover thousands of miles, preferably in one go.Then there is this fascinating mixture of distinctive engine and big bike dynamics. The characteristic boxer supremacy has been further enhanced in the current version: the engine s crowning glory is now the radial Double Overhead Camshaft valve operating system from the HP2 Sport, though here designed for greater torque and without any loss of running smoothness: maximum torque 88 ft-lb at 6000 rpm, rated output still at 110 hp. This means a tangible increase in thrust from the lower engine speed range through to above the medium range. The new valve control in the exhaust system ensures a discreet but more dynamic sound. And in terms of comfort, the bike boasts a new audio system available as an optional extra, with the innovative operating concept Multi-Controller carrying out virtually all commands from a single unit.So there s only one thing you have to do yourself - drop by for a test ride. 90 Years Special Model90 years of character. 90 years of endurance. BMW Motorrad is marking the anniversary of the comfortable boxer model and its irrepressible pioneering spirit - 90 years of motorcycle construction motivated by sheer passion. The special model of the R 1200 RT brings 90 years of success to life. Finished in matt black/gold with an exclusive brass plate on the clamp, this distinctive touring bike is presented in homage to the tradition and origins of BMW Motorrad. The anniversary model instantly demonstrates what perfect shape it is in - right on time for its 90th birthday. 90 years - unstoppable: the distinctive touring bike.

BMW R 1300 GS, R 1400 GS and M 1300 GS Expected for 2023

Tue, 29 Mar 2022

All three expected to share a new liquid-cooled Boxer engine Credit: Photos by Bernhard Höhne Last summer, we published photos of a very raw BMW GS prototype undergoing testing. The test mule was heavily disguised, to the point of having panels with a fake trellis covering the real subframe. The prototypes were so raw, it was difficult to tell exactly how much of it would make it to a production model.

Winter weather but summer carries on.

Aye, it’s been a another good week in the world of Niall Mackenzie. My friends at Moto Direct sent me a new RST Pro Series suit to try out, I acquired some new rubber for my S10000RR and young Taylor Mac splashed home to 12th place on his Aprilia in the 125cc British Grand Prix. Being no fashion guru and pretty ancient now I’m satisfied the brightest suit I’ve ever climbed into looks the biz.

Transport Canada Recalls 2013 BMW R1200GS for Traction Control Bug

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

The 2013 BMW R1200GS hasn’t arrived in showrooms yet and it’s already been subjected to its second recall in Canada. Fortunately, this means the problems should be corrected before BMW‘s updated adventure-tourer gets delivered to customers. Earlier this month, Transport Canada announced a recall for the new R1200GS for a potential transmission oil leak.
