Both combine a modern sporty and classical motorcycle design with greater riding enjoyment. Generating higher torque, the new boxer engine provides an extra boost of power. The new BMW R 1200 R models deliver greater power and acceleration at the top rpm range, whereas the boxer in the predecessor model had already provided superior acceleration under all conditions. Derived from the BMW HP2 Sport, the new boxer with 1,170 cubic centimeters and DOHC valve gear, is the same as the engines in the BMW R 1200 GS and BMW R 1200 RT. Thanks to ultra-modern technology, the new BMW roadsters are unique in the roadster segment. EBR 1190 Wins 2011 European Superbike Championship
Wed, 02 Nov 2011Harald Kitsch and the Pegasus Race Team has won its second championship on the EBR 1190RR, capturing the 2011 European Superbike open race class title. The championship follows Kitsch’s win in the 2010 Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship on the Erik Buell Racing racebike. While the Sound of Thunder championship was won against other V-Twin machines, the European Superbike class included sportbikes from the Japanese Big Four, BMW, Aprilia and Ducati.
How to destroy a GoPro
Wed, 14 Mar 2012That scraping sound you can hear is a mixture of a knee slider and the GoPro camera housing grazing the tarmac at Mugello. The footage was shot on-board the BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent machine ridden by Hugo Marchand, in testing ahead of the 2012 Endurance World Championship. He managed to wreck the housing that holds the GoPro camera after only three laps.

Fri, 27 Apr 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.
