BMW S1000RR Valve Train Working at High RPM [video]

I’d like to ramble on about a dozen different things relating to this video, but the 3- minute, 19-second clip speaks for itself. However, once the engine is revving at high rpm, watching the cams, finger followers and valve springs seemingly freeze in action due to the incredible speeds, I was reminded of that whole “Dude, the faster I went the more everything around me seemed to slow down,” experience we’ve all heard about or experienced. FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.

This is the lid that saved me from a face full of road and stopped a big bacon slicer (a front disc) from carving a canyon in the top of my head. This helmet was transformed from gleaming white accessory to scrap when I got back from taking the new BMW S1000RR to Morocco. A pedestrian ran into me from behind a bus and the two of us hit the ground. She’s okay and so am I apart from getting knocked out and breaking my shoulder.
