2010 BMW Custom S100RR, This is a unique, one of a kind custom BMW S1000RR motorcycle made to look like a vintage BMW caf?? racer. The bike sports an antique BMW look combined with a Naked Bike/Street Fighter look. It has won two awards both years it was entered in the Daytona Boardwalk Show and Maravella, where it was named the overall Hottest Custom. The bike is configured with a more comfortable upright riding position to keep the weight off the rider???s wrists. It is also much cooler on the legs and butt when riding than an original. Numerous very cool modifications have been done to make this a one of a kind showpiece. However, it is as fast and as nimble as the fantastic original S1000. Call for a list of the modifications. BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor
Mon, 30 Jan 2012David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.
Hero MotoCorps Hires Ex-BMW Designer Braunsperger
Mon, 25 Aug 2014Hero MotoCorp has hired former BMW designer Markus Braunsperger to lead the Indian company’s research and development division. Braunsperger once held a similar position with BMW in the early 2000s, developing models such as the K1200S before moving on to BMW’s automobile division where he helped design the 5, 6 and 7 series sedans as well as the X3, X5 and X7 SUVs. Braunsperger will head Hero’s new R&D center in Rajasthan, India, starting in October.
