2005 BMW R 1200 RT, 2005 BMW R1200RT, very nice shape, Givi top case, runs great, 19,251 miles.The ultimate sporty tourer, the R1200RT is one capable machine. Great ergonomics and plenty of luggage capacity for the long haul, and amazing handling to take your tour into the tight twisties. The engine has tons of torque at lower RPM. And the power keeps on coming all the way through the rev range. This one is nicely maintained, and it is in really nice condition. It has loads of features like electronic cruise control, electronically adjustable windshield, heated grips, electronic suspension adjustment which lets you choose different levels of stiffness for different riding conditions, and an on-board computer to let you know MPG, miles-to-empty, average MPH, ambient temperature, and engine oil level. In our last Question of the Day, we asked about some of the more… questionable names given to motorcycles (Hondas seemed to come up fairly often in the replies, which is both interesting and somehow not surprising.) I mentioned how it’s generally safer for a manufacturer to stick to a combination of letters and numbers. While that’s generally true, apart from the occasionally comical practice of tackling on another “R” to make a model sound sportier ( looking at you again, Honda), it does bring the focus onto yet another common pet peeve: motorcycles with misleading numbers in the name.

My friends at Moto Direct sent me a new RST Pro Series suit to try out, I acquired some new rubber for my S10000RR and young Taylor Mac splashed home to 12th place on his Aprilia in the 125cc British Grand Prix. Being no fashion guru and pretty ancient now I’m satisfied the brightest suit I’ve ever climbed into looks the biz.
