BMW Starts Production of C Evolution Electric Scooter
Fri, 04 Apr 2014The first C Evolution electric scooters have rolled off the line at BMW‘s main motorcycle production plant in Berlin, Germany. The result of three and a half years of development, the BMW C Evolution scooter is the company’s two-wheeled foray into electric vehicles. The C Evolution shares the same lithium-ion battery module as the BMW i3 electric car.

The film follows a character called Sanders who rides a 1960 BMW R60/2 across Arizona, Utah and Montana. With help of fellow traveler and sage, Northway, and a variety of other colorful characters along the way, Sanders gets learns the way of the road and the zen of the bar. The Best Bar in America is scheduled for release on DVD and iTunes this Spring. The test mule was heavily disguised, to the point of having panels with a fake trellis covering the real subframe. The prototypes were so raw, it was difficult to tell exactly how much of it would make it to a production model.
