NHTSA Fines BMW $3 Million for Late Recall Reporting

BMW has agreed to pay civil penalties of $3 million for failing to report safety defects in a timely manner to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. BMW Reports Q2 2012 Results

BMW reported a 8.9% decrease in motorcycle sales revenue over the second quarter of 2012 but still managed a 1.3% increase over the first half. According to German manufacturer’s second quarter report, the BMW and Husqvarna combined for 410 million euros (US$507.7 million) in revenue over the second quarter ended June 30, 2012, a decrease from the 450 million euros reported in the same period last year. Revenues for the first half totaled 858 million euros (US$1.06 billion), a 1.3% year-over-year increase from 847 million euros.
