BMW Other description

2004 Bmw R 1200 CL, LIVE IN LUXURY! - Raised on the road. Living in luxury. Introducing the R 1200 CL -- BMW's new luxury cruiser -- built for a different breed of rider. You'll see its genetic makeup when you walk up to it. Right under the weather buffeting fairing is the noble head of a BMW Cruiser. Wide chrome-plated handlebars, generous sideboards, and for the first time, four front headlights, give the R 1200 CL an unmistakably unique presence. And it's got guts too. With its new Two Spark ignition and the 1,170cc flat twin power unit of the original Cruiser, it'll pull 72lb-ft of torque at 3000rpm, calling up 61 horses in the process. Accompanying its substantial power is the unparalleled braking capability inherent in a BMW motorcycle. But beyond beauty and brawn, the R 1200 CL is outfitted for true long-distance luxury. The custom windshield, like the fairing, protects you from the elements. The seats are specially designed for enduring comfort and heated for cold weather riding. The suspension system capitalizes on BMW's pioneering Telelever and Monolever technologies. Even the gearbox has been reconfigured to offer smoother riding and shifting over long distances. Add to this top and side travel cases, heated grips and an onboard AM/FM-stereo/CD player, then finish the package with bold colors, chrome highlights, and all new cast aluminum wheels. The new R 1200 CL, it's got luxury in its lineage and cruiser in its character. It's the newest member of the BMW family. And it was bred for people who were born to ride.
