BMW Other description

2004 Bmw R 1150 R Rockster, NEW INNOVATIVE BOXER DESIGN IMPROVES PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY - Predatory on the pavement. Primal - that's the R 1150 R Rockster. It's predatory by nature and a high-performance by design - an evolution in naked bike engineering. You'll swear the pavement quivers when you fire up the Rockster's new twin-spark engine. The latest innovation in BMW boxer design, the two spark raises the bar on reliability and performance. And there's plenty of bite behind that bark. Wide open, the Rockster shoots across a tarmac at up to 122 mph, sprinting from 0 - 62mph in a mere 4.2 seconds. But even perched on its center stand, the Rockster epitomizes speed. Every angle screams aggression and the high-contrast black and citrus or black and orange war paint gives the Rockster a unique presence. MSRP $12,990 with ABS

2025 Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 – First Look

Wed, 02 Oct 2024

The Svartpilen 801 has a new roadster-styled sibling, as Husqvarna announces the new “White Arrow” Vitpilen 801. Like the Black Arrow, the Vitpilen adopts the 799cc LC8c Parallel-Twin of the KTM 790 Duke, offering yet a new option to the shared platform. Ryan Adams recently reviewed the Svartpilen 801 and found it a “worthy contender in the market that brings its own unique style alongside proven performance.” That theme continues with the new Vitpilen, which brings its own take, with more aggressive ergonomics and a bright splash of color in yellow (a silver color is also available if you prefer something less flashy).

Whilst stretched out bikes aren't that popular over here in the UK, you can certainly appreciate them a whole lot more more when you know they're going to be used at a drag strip. This video shows bike builder and ex-racer Roland Sands work his magic on a BMW S1000RR. Future plans are to increase the engine to 300bhp, and achieve speeds of 220mph.

BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.
