BMW Other description

1991 BMW K100RS, It???s a real shame that the original and only owner and longtime customer of Bob???s of this bike stopped riding this bike And failed to pickled it properly and then waited several years to call Bob and say ???I need to see my bikes because a health issue is preventing me from riding any more??? because several bad things happened to an otherwise pretty clean, very low mileage bike that could have easily been prevented. Fortunately they can also be easily corrected but it does involved some money being spent. The work is not particularly hard but it will need to be done to put this otherwise nice looking Beemer back on the road. A paint job on your current K100RS might cost more than what we are asking for this entire bike!It came to Bob???s in July of 2010 and like many others just got parked in the back of the warehouse. The parts that needed to be addressed were not going to get any worse from waiting a little longer, we just didn???t think it would be 3 years. The cosmetics are pretty nice but there are a few scratches here and there. The paint on one panel does not match the others and we suspect it tipped over and had a new panel installed as there is no crash damage visible and we never did an estimate to our knowledge. The paint all looks like BMW factory work. This customer did 95% of all his maintenance and even owned many of the costly BMW special tools over the 15 plus years he was a client having purchased several new BMW???s from us.This one offers a fine opportunity to own a very low mileage, great looking generally and very dependable BMW model usually capable of placing tens if not hundreds of thousands of miles on before one might need to attend to service issues inside the engine or gearbox. And because it???s so clean it would be a prime candidate to part out and make a bundle of money on but again, Bob hates to see this happen on a bike that should be brought back to life and returned to safe and roadworthy condition so someone else can have fun. And we also have to share that one option for a new home for this machine, as much as we have to suggest this is with someone who already owns a higher mileage K100RS of similar vintage with poor cosmetics who might be looking for an entire bodywork swap and then a whole assortment of low cost if not free mechanical components, spare wheels and exhaust and a near perfect seat.

EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW R1200RT Revealed

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We confess, the BMW R1200RT was a glaring omission from our list of top 10 motorcycles to watch at EICMA. There are so many new bikes coming out at the 2013 EICMA show, it was hard enough to narrow it down to just 10, but that doesn’t excuse us forgetting BMW is adding another model powered by the new R1200GS‘ liquid-cooled boxer engine. Follow the rest of our 2013 EICMA show coverage The peak numbers for the R1200RT are the same as with the GS, with BMW claiming 125 hp at 7700 rpm and 92.2 ft-lb at 6500 rpm.
