BMW Other description

1975 BMW R90/6, This one has been sitting around for several years for a variety of reasons. When it first arrived Bob thought it should be turned into a good used bike over the following winter. Remove the fairing, rack & bag mounts and make it box stock as the demand far exceeds the supply in this regard. He wasn???t even sure if it was going to be repainted. Yes he was going to put a stock seat back on it too. He also thought about swapping out the wheels onto an all original R90S he owns as they were better than his (the only real blemish on that machine) but he never got to this task.WHAT WE KNOW:??BIKE WAS RUNNING AT THAT TIME & NOTES INDICATE IT STARTED, SHIFTED & STOPPED FINEGEARBOX HADINTENDED AS A WINTER PROJECT FOR THE SERVICE TEAM THAT NEVER GOT UNDER WAY DESIRABLE LARGE 6.3 GALLON BMW GAS TANK IS SUPER CLEAN & DRY INSIDE (USED BY BOB???S BRIEFLY)TOOL TRAY, TIRE PUMP, VER HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL KNOB AND FOLDING GRAY IGNITION KEYS INCLUDEDEXHAUST SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH MINIMAL RUSTCLEAR MI TITLE READY TO REASSIGNHAS THE USUAL SLIGHT BOTTOM END WEEPAGE OR SEEPAGE THAT ONE WOULD EXPECT FOR AGE AND MILEAGETHE TIRES ARE OLD AND EVEN IF THEY WERE FRESH THERE ARE PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES IN STOCKIT DID NOT COME TO US WITH A TOOL KIT, MANUAL OR RAG, THESE ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT BOB???STHE SWITCHES APPEAR TO BE OK, BUT THEY ARE ALSO 38 YEARS OLD SO THEY MAY NOT BE PERFECT OR LAST MUCH LONGERTHE SUSPENSION APPEARS ORIGINAL AND WHILE IT???S CORRECT IT???S GOT TO BE TIRED IF NOT WORN OUT, WE HAVE OPTIONS

Whenever you throw your leg over a bike that isn’t your own, there is always a few minutes needed to become familiar with the proportions and controls of the foreign machine. Getting a sense of the clutch release point, brake feel, throttle response and riding position may all differ from what you have been accustomed, but they slowly become second nature after enough seat time is logged. One such control that strays from this rule of thumb is the turn signal operation of many BMWs.

2011-2012 BMW K1600GT, K1600GTL Recalled in Canada for Engine Stall Issues

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

BMW is recalling the 2011-2012 K1600GT and K1600GTL in Canada because of a risk of the engine stalling. At the moment, a recall has only been confirmed for Canada, though we expect a similar recall to come for the U.S. market from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
