1965 BMW R69S, Recently completed and fully restored, this 1965 R69S is by far one of the cleanest around. Restored by the MAX BMW Heritage Service Center, this R69S looks better than the day it hit showroom floors. New paint, new wheels, new exhaust, new Denfeld rider seat with original BMW accessory "swinging pillion" rear seat. With low bars, low mirrors, and low exhaust, this is a perfect example of a period correct hot rod R69S. Motor, gearbox, and transmission have been completely gone through with lots of new parts. New bearings, seals, valves and hardware, pistons, ring, etc. Completely gone through. This bike looks, runs, and sounds as new (if not better). Restoration bikes are typically a long project that we take our time on. This one will not disappoint. BMW Concept Ninety Marks Motorrad’s 90th Anniversary and 40 Years of BMW R90S
Fri, 24 May 2013BMW revealed a new concept to mark the company’s 90th year in the motorcycle business while also paying tribute to a classic: the BMW R90S. (UPDATED with video.) The product of a collaboration between the BMW Motorrad Design studio and Roland Sands Designs, the BMW Concept Ninety will be displayed alongside other classic BMW motorcycles at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 24-26 in Italy. The Concept Ninety carries many styling cues from the R90S, BMW’s classic superbike.
BMW Recalls 4,453 Motorcycles and Scooters for Side Stand Switch Problem
Thu, 13 Mar 2014BMW has initiated a recall on several motorcycle and scooter models because of a problem with the side stand switches failing in wet conditions. The recall affects 4,453 vehicles from the 2013 model year including the C600 Sport and C650GT scooters, F700GS, F800GS, F800GS Adventure, F800GT, R1200R and R1200GS. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, water may enter the side stand switch on affected vehicles from riding in wet conditions or even from vigorous washing.
BMW S1000RR drag bike
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Whilst stretched out bikes aren't that popular over here in the UK, you can certainly appreciate them a whole lot more more when you know they're going to be used at a drag strip. This video shows bike builder and ex-racer Roland Sands work his magic on a BMW S1000RR. Future plans are to increase the engine to 300bhp, and achieve speeds of 220mph.
