BMW Other description

1961 BMW R69S Very low miles at 9, 149 mis (Not sure if this is real or not. The previous owner thought that they might be actual miles. The bike was being restored over a 20 yr period so it may be accurate.) Exhaust system (purchased new stainless steel reproduction exhaust from Keihan Systems in the UK in spring 201 ). New seat Wiring (New wiring harness, sealed battery, switches, etc.) completed spring 201 Transmission (Transmission completely rebuilt with new seals and bearings summer 201 by a vintage BMW) Carb work (Carbs were cleaned, seals replaced, new bushings, gaskets, rubber pieces, etc spring 201 ) Seat (purchased new from Benchmark Works in spring 201 ) All new cables. Fluids (The bike has been sitting dry in the POs living area as a show piece. All new fluids (engine oil, transmission, drive shaft, and final drive) in summer 201 . Valves adjusted summer 201 . The bike runs and drives very well. It is a powerful bike! It starts on the rd or fourth kick, but I am guessing that it will be a one or 2 kick bike once the new piston rings (installed by the previous owner) find their home. I have put on less than 50 mis since completion. The bike was professionally repainted at a bike shop in Minneapolis in the early 90s. The paint is very nice and the pin striping is near perfect. It does have some nicks here and there and a couple small bubbles/drips on the tank, but it is VERY nice. The tires have less than 50mis on them (as does the complete bike since being finished earlier this summer).. The chrome (on the bars, wheels, air tubes, mirrors, etc.) is bright and shiny near perfect. The engine is very clean and has no leaks.

Tue, 17 Aug 2010

Need something to do on August Bank Holiday weekend, then read below: "Although the South West Motorcycle Show has been running at the Westpoint Arena for the last sixteen years, 2010 is the first year that the show hosts the all-new Vertical Trix European Stunt Championship. The show contains all the usual attractions that have been delivered to motorcyclists from over the south-west and further afield since 1994 – including all the appropriate trade stands, and with strong support from local dealers – plus attractions such a a dyno on site, restaurant, bar, bike displays, live music and of course the live action arena. Although the action in the show arena has previously been stunt displays, rather than a full-on competition.

BMW R 18 Roctane Confirmed in Homologation Filings

Fri, 31 Mar 2023

Evidence suggests a performance cruiser variant BMW is preparing to add a new model to its 1,802cc boxer family, receiving type approval in Switzerland for a new variant called the R 18 Roctane. The type approval data for the Roctane shows much in common with the existing R 18 models, but with some notable differences. For one, the R 18 Roctane has an internal model code of “0N61,” while the model codes for the R 18, R 18 Classic, R 18 B, and R 18 Transcontinental all have model codes beginning with “0L.” This suggests the Roctane differs from the other models in a fairly significant way, either with a chassis update or a different form factor.

2023 BMW M 1000 R Review - First Ride

Thu, 15 Dec 2022

Excessive excellence Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jörg Künstle Nothing succeeds like excess – and by concocting the 2023 M 1000 R (or “MR” as they’d like us to call it), BMW is doing its best to confirm the truth of that axiom in a two-wheeled context. How else to characterize a Naked-as-Nature straight-Four hotrod with upright handlebar and no screen, which has a 14,600 rpm redline and produces a claimed 206.5 hp at 13,750rpm, with claimed peak torque of 83.3 lb-ft at 11,000rpm, that has a homologated/proven top speed of 174 mph and weighs just 438.7 lbs with all liquids, including a full 4.4-gallon tank of fuel? Consider that just a decade ago the factory S1000RR Superbike racer which BMW’s works riders Troy Corser and Leon Haslam raced in the 2011 WSBK series produced 216 bhp at 14,900 rpm, and it’s clear that the new MR super-roadster is a statement of intent that can’t be ignored.
