The BMW K 1600 GTL is powered by the most compact and efficient in-line 6-cylinder engine ever installed in a series production motorcycle. The 1,649 cc engine is rated at 160 hp (118 kw) at 7,750 rpm and 129 lb/ft (175 Nm) of torque at 5,250 rpm. Besides its capable engine, the 2013 BMW K 1600 GTL features an ergonomic design which offers a comfortable ride for both long and short journeys. Among the unique features offered by the BMW K 1600 GTL there is the adaptive headlight which matches the visionary front section of the K 1600 GTL and provides the very highest level of active safety. The ride is kept in check by a capable Duolever front suspension and a rear Paralever unit. There is also available the optional ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) which is able to adapt to various road conditions to provide maximum performances. When luxury is freed of constraint, it moves to a new level. At the very top of this evolution is the K 1600 GTL – a high-class touring bike like none before it. V.I.P treatment for first Dainese D-Air customers
Fri, 08 Jul 2011To celebrate the release of the D-Air race suit in the UK, Dainese are offering the first 20 customers to order a complete V.I.P treatment at the upcoming World Superbike round at Silverstone. The iconic safety brand will have each of the customer's suits personally tailored, with measurements undertaken by a Dainese D-Air engineer from the factory in Italy. Following this, the first 20 customers to register will receive a hospitality lunch, garage tours of the Aprilia, BMW and Kawasaki teams with the opportunity to meet the Dainese riders and rub well protected shoulders with the big names of the WSB paddock.

But the Rizoma ProGuard system has helped secure the levers of Toni Elias on his road to championship success in the inaugural Moto2 season. The example above was on an attractive Rizoma-enhanced BMW S1000RR, but the lever guards are not limited to sports bikes, they were also visible on Yamaha's FZ8. The patented design can tilt up to 10 degrees providing full lever coverage and can be added by simply replacing the bike's existing bar-ends.

Thu, 01 Apr 2010This is the lid that saved me from a face full of road and stopped a big bacon slicer (a front disc) from carving a canyon in the top of my head. This helmet was transformed from gleaming white accessory to scrap when I got back from taking the new BMW S1000RR to Morocco. A pedestrian ran into me from behind a bus and the two of us hit the ground. She’s okay and so am I apart from getting knocked out and breaking my shoulder.
