BMW K-Series description

I purchased this bike in October 2012. I ride it every week or two, but have not ridden in rain. It is garage kept, and has had its scheduled services. I reluctantly need to sell it now, and it only has 4,500 miles on it. It was purchased from Captiol BMW in Raleigh.

Title is held by BMW, so I would want you to give me two cashier's checks to buy it. One made out to me, and one to BMW.

The options on this bike are the Factory AM/FM/Sirius radio with Bluetooth, built in GPS, Cruise Control, Electric Windshield, All bags are easily and quickly removable, trip and fuel computer, time and temperature, Heated Seats and Handgrips, "blue book" on this bike is around 22k. I have only added BMW factory crash bars, and a second Bluetooth transmitter since the BMW Bluetooth didn't sound good with my Scalarider G4 helmet audio. I have probably left off some options since it has so many, but you can go to the BMW site to see what is included on a K1600GTL.

If you like, I will also throw in two brand new Shoei helmets with two Scalarider G4 headsets with the bike. The helmets are both size large and were purchased in May. The ladies helmet has been used only once. The mens helmet has been used problably ten times. With the scalariders in them, you can use them as an intercom between passenger and rider, or even between riders of different bikes. Range is a half mile. I also like to listen to the radio with mine, I can cannect to the bike, or to pandora on my iphone. If the phone rings I can touch a button and answer it. This is a true luxury package.

Cal looking good

Sun, 20 Mar 2011

Make no mistake Cal Crutchlow is doing an amazing job during his short career in Moto GP. He is asking not to be compared to Ben Spies but when you consider Spies had three Moto GP races under his belt at the same point in his career, Cal's 8th position in Qatar qualifying then 11th in the race is a pretty solid start.  He ended 2010 as one of the best world's best superbike riders but the 800cc Moto GP machines require different riding skills. Watching trackside it is easy to see the the riders have to brake later backshift quicker before getting back on the throttle on the corner entry. With the help of advanced electronics this loads the front tyre earlier giving the potential for greater momentum that continues past the apex to the corner exit and beyond.

Vines motorcycle scrappage

Fri, 17 Jul 2009

Following this year’s earlier Budget announcement about the government’s car scrappage scheme, Vines of Guildford BMW has created a similar scheme for motorcycles. Bike owners with motorcycles bought five or more years ago will be given £1,000 off the list price of a new BMW motorcycle when using their old bike as a part-exchange*.  Riders just need to ensure they have at least six months MOT left and the bike must be taxed with clear HPI.  Just like the Government’s car scrappage scheme has been put in place to help drivers, and the car industry, through tough economic times, Vines of Guildford wanted to offer motorcyclists the same opportunity, to purchase a brand new BMW motorcycle with the benefit of the £1,000 part exchange. As well as enjoying this benefit on the purchase price of a new BMW bike, riders can also look forward to complimentary panniers with all new R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models, and complimentary Zumo sat nav system with the new R1200RT until 30 Sept, plus access to BMW’s Select Finance options to get riders on their bikes straight away with the option to change their new bike every two to three years.
