2013 BMW C600 Sport Recalled in Canada for Loose Fairings

BMW‘s maxi-scooters have only just started going on sale in North America and already there’s a recall for the 2013 BMW C600 Sport in Canada. According to Transport Canada, the fairing side panels on certain BMW C600 Sport scooters can loosen and detach while moving at very high speeds. In such a situation, the detached fairing poses a hazard to the rider and passenger as well as other vehicles and bystanders.

European Motorcycle Market Down 38% Since 2006

New motorcycle registrations in Europe decreased 8.9% in 2011, reaching its lowest level in a decade. And with the state of the economy in Europe, things might get worse. BMW has initiated a recall on the 2012 and 2013 S1000RR because the side stands may not have been correctly installed. According to Transport Canada, the side stand attachment bolts may loosen, causing an S1000RR to fall over while resting on the stand.
