BMW K-Series description

History: Bought from Advantage Certified Auto Group in October 2012 with 18429 miles.

Title: Free and clear. Ready to transfer!

Inspection: Has a MD certificate of inspection.

Maintenance: All maintenance has been performed by Bob's BMW since I've owned the bike.

Condition: At one point early in the year an individual did attempt to steal the motorcycle and ended up dropping it on both sides before giving up in frustration. All damage was cosmetic and the repair work was done by Bob's BMW. The bike is virtually flawless with new parts and paint, including a brand new muffler. The tires, Michelin Pilot Road 3's, have less than 3000 miles on them and show only minor wear. The K1300GT motor runs smooth and provides excellent power through the virtually maintenance-free shaft drive.

This motorcycle comes with the factory Premium Package upgrade and has a few other extras too (no alarm kit):
  • Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Anti-Spin Control (ASC)
  • Electronic Suspension Adjustment II (ESA II)
  • High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon Light
  • Tire Pressure Control/Monitoring (TPC or TPM)
  • Electronically Adjustable Windshield
  • Heated Grips
  • Heated Seats (Separate driver and passenger controls)
  • Electronic Cruise Control
  • Adjustable Handlebars
  • Adjustable Low Rider’s Seat
  • Extra Tall V-Strom Windshield
  • BMW 49L Color-matched Topcase (Lock is key matched)
  • GPS/Radar Detector/Cell Phone Mount
  • Aftermarket Fog Lights
Comments: One key will come with the bike which opens the matching topcase and the panniers. Also included is the plastic key to make new keys if desired. There is a harness already wired in for a battery tender and heated gear.

Please ask if you have questions, I'd be happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Mon, 28 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.

WSBK 2013: Monza Race Report

Mon, 13 May 2013

Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri split a pair of victories at Monza but the most biggest news from the World Superbike weekend was a strange series of appeals after Race Two that saw Tom Sykes finish third, relegated to fourth and then reinstated on the final step of the podium. The unusual mix-up occurred after Sykes, sitting in third place, ran off track and into the run off area on Turn 5 on his final lap. The Kawasaki rider returned to the track again in third place where he finished ahead of Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli.

Seat Time: Falling on Your Face

Photography by: Matthew McNulty and Justin Coffey After scrolling through endless lists of famous quotes looking for something which really suits my condition, I landed on this: “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” —Paulo Coelho It’s not the most profound of the options. Nor the most touching or even poignant. But how I interpret the meaning was the most encouraging.
