BMW K-Series description

Garage Kept BMW K1200LT, bike is on a battery tender when in the garage. This bike is well maintained by a BMW Certified Mechanic. As much as I love this bike - I have only ridden it 1,500 miles in the last year. It deserves to be ridden by someone with more time than I have. Equipped with GPS, AM/FM radio, CD Player. Electronic Windshield. Cup Holder. Extra LED Driving lights are installed. Heated seat and grips. The bike came from the factory with a power center stand. When the power center stand failed several years ago BMW told me there were two parts that could fail. One cost $6.00 - the other was $1,400. The failed part was the expensive one. I had the dealer remove the power center stand and replace it with a manual center stand from a 2004 K1200LT. The tires were replaced last year. The radio was replaced 4 years ago. Battery is new. The drivers backrest is not in the picture, but comes with the bike. The windshield is an aftermarket upgrade. This bike handles like a dream, on the back streets, on country roads, on the superhighway you couldn't ask for a better ride. Very capable to handle riding two up for long periods. Located in Northern Virginia - I can deliver in the Mid Atlantic States for a modest fee. Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.

EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW nineT First Impressions – Video

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We were one of two US motorcycle publications to attend the unveiling of the 2014 BMW nineT in Munich a few weeks ago. The unique roadster was designed to both embody and celebrate the 90 years of BMW motorcycles by emphasizing the archetypical form of BMW’s qualities. Now, as part of the EICMA 2013 show, the rest of the world media and the public who are lucky enough to be in Milan get a chance to throw a leg over one.

Copper and leather BMW

Tue, 11 Sep 2012

This leather-coated BMW R51/3 bobber was created by its owner Hugo Ferraro, thanks to help from a Greek leathersmith, Elias Dairis. You either love it or can't stand it. The bike features a custom-made fuel tank, a leaf-spring front-end, standard wheels, a lighter crank and pistons and a hot cam.
