Known Issues:

I've owned the bike for ~4 years and it's been great. I've always serviced it at the same BMW dealership.   I recently had the Alarm removed; it was killing the battery because it was dying - this is a common issues with these bikes.  Problem is, when it (alarm) dies it immobilizes the bike. You can have the parts in case you ever want to fiddle with it and re-install.

There are some scratches, as to be expected, but nothing major.  The Mirror for the rear trunk is missing - it was like this when I purchased it - but I am told you can buy these and replace if important.

The front windshield is missing a decorative cover piece for the mounting bracket; it flew off when it came back from recent service - but I can new set take off the price. ( approx. $60 USD)

The right hand grip developed a couple splits last year - It does not affect heating function, but just wanted you to know.

This is the second K1200LT I've owned and it is undoubtedly the most comfortable of all the brakes I've ridden.  Heavy but still handles great making it perfect for those long trips.  Why am I selling it?  I've had two neck surgeries in the past 5 years and no longer feel comfortable or confident riding a motorcycle.  Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Capirex’s New Ride: the BMW M MotoGP Safety Car

Since retiring from racing after the 2011 MotoGP season Capirossi has been serving as MotoGP’s Safety Adviser. That, plus his familiarity with the MotoGP paddock and its racing circuits, makes him the logical choice as an ambassador for BMW M, the German manufacturer’s racing-performance subsidiary.

Latest on my S1000RR

Mon, 04 Oct 2010

Not sure what's going on with the sound in this vid, but it calms down after a minute - sorry! As my long term BMW S1000RR does most of its miles working hard on track days, I felt an early 6000 mile service might be a good idea. A quick phone call to my local dealer (the friendly and efficient Pidcocks) saw my bike in the workshop the following week and back in my hands by lunchtime.
