BMW K-Series description

Happy Holidays Friends! This BMW motorcycle would be the ULTIMATE gift for a long-distance touring motorbike enthusiast!

This BMW K1200RS is in overall very good condition and I'm awfully heartbroken to be listing it but I just had a season-ending skiing accident and the surgeon is telling me that I won't be riding comfortably for at least the next year or two.
This motorcycle is fully Tour loaded with quick release hard BMW side saddle bags, quick release trunk and tank bag. 99% of the mileage is Interstate 25 and I-70 trips. It has never really been ridden in the city.
I am only the 2nd owner and this bike has never been crashed nor tipped over. It has been scraped up from shuffling and moving around in the garage and has been scraped on the Right side but nothing major.
With 22,600 miles it is barely broken in. I just had the dealer put a BRAND NEW BATTERY in. The rear tire should be replaced soon. This cycle starts and runs exceptionally well and I have had no issues with it. It has the factory hand warmers, adjustable foot rests, adjustable factory windshield, factory adjustable seat for two different heights, etc.

European Parliament Makes ABS Mandatory, Tighten Emissions Standards by 2016

Wed, 21 Nov 2012

The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of new rules that would increase emission standards and make anti-lock braking systems mandatory for all new large motorcycles, scooters and trikes and quads by 2016. The new regulations, which would still need approval from European Union member states, may only directly affect Europe, but they will have a wide-reaching affect on manufacturers’ product development for other markets. BMW, for example, has already made ABS standard for all its motorcycles for 2013.

Cal looking good

Sun, 20 Mar 2011

Make no mistake Cal Crutchlow is doing an amazing job during his short career in Moto GP. He is asking not to be compared to Ben Spies but when you consider Spies had three Moto GP races under his belt at the same point in his career, Cal's 8th position in Qatar qualifying then 11th in the race is a pretty solid start.  He ended 2010 as one of the best world's best superbike riders but the 800cc Moto GP machines require different riding skills. Watching trackside it is easy to see the the riders have to brake later backshift quicker before getting back on the throttle on the corner entry. With the help of advanced electronics this loads the front tyre earlier giving the potential for greater momentum that continues past the apex to the corner exit and beyond.

Globetrotting Vespa Takes Final 800-Mile Journey to Piaggio Foundation Museum – Video

Thu, 24 May 2012

When you think of making a round-the-world motorcycle tour, you usually think of an adventure touring bike like the BMW R1200GS à la Ewen McGregor and Charley Boorman in “Long Way Round“. Sean Jordan, a Canadian expatriate living in Budapest, Hungary, had a different steed in mind: a Vespa P200E scooter. On Dec.
