Reason for selling: We bought the bike in Sept of 2014 for touring. The problem: My wife developed back issues and is not able to sit for any period of time on the bike. Only problem with the bike is the rider's seat partially heats-passenger heats normal. THAT'S IT!!! Otherwise, the bikes runs, drives, starts, stops as it should-LIKE NEW! Its a beautiful machine! BMW K1600GT Named International Bike of the Year 2011
Thu, 19 Jan 2012The BMW K1600GT has been voted International Bike of the Year 2011 by a panel of motorcycle magazine journalists representing 25 publications from around the world. The six-cylinder BMW K1600GT received a score of 41 points from the jury to top all contenders. Second place went to the Ducati Diavel at 32 points.
BMW Quitting WSBK After 2013 Season
Wed, 24 Jul 2013BMW announced it will withdraw its factory support from the World Superbike Championship at the end of the 2013 season. According to BMW, the company will concentrate on its production models including the addition of new small-displacement models and reaching developing markets. BMW Motorrad will also shift resources to other motorsports activities such as supporting customer racing efforts in both international and domestic competitions.
