BMW K-Series description

As close to mint condition as you'll find and very rare in this two tone upgrade color scheme. This bike has been meticulously maintained and thus looks and rides like new. If the mileage concerns you then you need to research these bikes a bit more, this is low for a bike like this and you can rest assured the speedometer has not been replaced to artificially boost the value. Known as the "flying brick" this 1100 c.c. inline flat four power train is legendary for reliability and durability and is the most soothing bike I've ever ridden long distance. To ensure comfort I installed a Corbin seat and had it recovered in a gunmetal weave seat panel with grain accents and sides. It goes very well with the color of the rest of the bike. It comes with factory bags and a Givi top bag that doubles as your passenger backrest. I installed a Remus exhaust system to give the bike a great, throaty sound without increasing the noise much over the stock exhaust that sounds like a car. Currently running Michelin radials. The bike is equipped with ABS brakes, a 12v socket on the dash and plugs for heated apparel under the side panel. Run to the store on your sport bike or throw the luggage on and head to the coast on your tourer, this is the ultimate dual purpose machine. I will safety check the bike for the buyer or negotiate an as is price to avoid the inconvenience to me. A pre-safety has been done and it needs nothing.

PS. I love this bike so don't waste my time or yours with low offers, I'll simply not respond. The bike is located near Kingston, Ontario, Canada and could be delivered after viewing and payment for a fee in my enclosed trailer. I'm thinking about .60 per mile would cover my fuel/wear and tear.

Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.

I would not, could not, ride a BMW C1

Tue, 29 Jun 2010

As the chair of this session I will start. On my walk to work this morning I got beeped at by BMW's C1 scooter whilst crossing the road. This, my most detested mockery of two-wheeled transport, beeped at me for no reason whatsoever but what angered me more was the pitiful horn the BMW has, it was a roadrunner like ‘meep’.
