BMW K-Series tech info

BMW K-Series description
BMW K75 S
~56,xxx miles
40-45 mpg around town, 50-55 mpg highways and mountains
runs and shifts just fine, no leaks, starts the first time, no mechanical problems
the BMW K series was the first bike to have ABS and fuel injection
BMW side bags in the pics and a Clymer manual included
the good -
In the last year
new tires*
new brake pads*
new fuel pump*
new battery*
new electric radiator fan
It has spent most of its life in a garage (last owner) or parking garage where I worked
ABS still works. I'd rather not know this, but it was useful a few times sharing the road with some knuckleheads.
It has always started the first time, every time, even in the middle of winter.
~1000 miles since the last oil change
No leaks!
the bad -
cosmetic wear not too bad, but enough for me to lower the price below KBB's best guess...quite a bit. Dangit.
right blinker and right side of the fairing damaged when parked on soft/hot asphalt (WITH THE CENTER STAND) and it tipped over.
hazard light switch does not work
Hard bags came from another bike that was laid down. The right side is scuffed, but they both work just fine.
rear brake squeals a bit even with new pads
left rear turn signal works fine, but the mounting is cracked/broken
*this was done by the previous owner in the spring 2012. Since then, I have ridden ~3500 miles.

2013 BMW C600 Sport Fairing Recall Extended to US
Mon, 10 Dec 2012Last week, Transport Canada issued a recall on the 2013 BMW C600 Sport due to a risk of the scooter’s side fairings coming loose at high speeds. The recall has now reached the U.S., with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announcing a recall. According to documents released by NHTSA, the three “snap-lock” fasteners securing the left and right side trim panels may not have sufficient strength to hold the fairing in place at speeds higher than 100 mph.
2014 BMW R1200RT Spied Testing
Thu, 21 Mar 2013With the new 2013 BMW R1200GS now launching worldwide, it really should be no surprise BMW is working on more models using the GS’s new liquid-cooled boxer engine. A contributor to French site MotoMag happened upon a crew of test riders on heavily camouflaged test mules of what appears to be the 2014 BMW R1200RT. The swirly camo pattern does little to hide the new “precision cooling” liquid-cooled engine, easily identified by the pipes exiting from the bottom of the cylinders.
2012 BMW K1600GT, K1600GTL Engine Stall Recall Announced for US
Tue, 03 Dec 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for 2,475 units of the 2012 BMW K1600GT and K1600GTL in the U.S. because of a software problem causing engines to stall. A similar recall was previously announced in Canada but we now have more information about the problem.
