BMW K-Series description

I have owned this motorcycle since 2006.  It was sold by San Jose BMW new in 1992.  This is the low seat model.  What this means is that the seat is about an inch lower than  the standard model.  I am 6' 1" with a 32 inch inseam  I don't feel that it is too low.  Actually higher than my Road King seat.

As far as I can tell I am the third owner. (Seller didn't speak much English)  The bike presently has 52,492 miles on it.  The bike is equipped with a smoked GIVI windshield and a rear backrest/luggage rack.  Since I have owned it,  the water/oil pump and the heated grips have been replaced by SJ BMW.  I replaced the battery and the starter relay in 2007.  The bike is always kept on a battery tender and stored in my garage when not being ridden. The rear shock and front fork springs have been replaced with Progressive units.  The tires have less than 2000 miles on them.  I replaced the front brake disks in Sept. 2012 along with front and rear brake pads.  The rear master cylinder was replaced in June of this year.  There are no signs of rust in the tank.  The original owners manual and tool kit are present.  I will include three service manuals.  I am selling because I am moving to Idaho and only have room for one bike.  I would not hesitate to jump on this bike and go anywhere.

The only real flaw I know about is that the front fender paint is faded or was not original to the bike. There is a chip in the front fender paint that looks like it was covered with touch up.  (See pic) Both saddle bags are in good shape but have some minor scuffing on them.  I don't normally have them on the bike.

I know that Dependable Auto shipping has a depot in Hayward CA.  I will gladly ride the bike there or the shipper can pick up in Fremont, CA.  I will not make any deals outside of EBAY so please don't ask.  The parts alone on this bike are worth more than the $900 opening bid.

What’s New With CRP Electric Motorcycles?

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

CRP, the Italian company who made a splash last year when it announced it would make a production electric motorcycle, has been strangely quiet lately. With no news coming from the team in Modena, Italy, we wondered, what’s CRP been up to lately? While not much has been said publicly for months, CRP has been working feverishly behind the scenes to strengthen its staff.

I would not, could not, ride a BMW C1

Tue, 29 Jun 2010

As the chair of this session I will start. On my walk to work this morning I got beeped at by BMW's C1 scooter whilst crossing the road. This, my most detested mockery of two-wheeled transport, beeped at me for no reason whatsoever but what angered me more was the pitiful horn the BMW has, it was a roadrunner like ‘meep’.
