BMW K-Series description

1991 BMW K75s

This bike is a great survivor.  It is far from a show bike, but a good, well-maintained driver.  I have owned the bike for about 5 years and put about 5000 miles on it.

These bikes are rare, smooth sport touring machines and are very reliable.  They have aluminum fuel tanks so no worries about rust in the fuel system.  They are shaft drive and fuel-injected.  It always starts at the push of the button.  Tires are Metzler Lasers and are in good shape.

This bike has had regular oil changes and air filter replacements.  I am not sure how accurate the odometer is as far as original miles, but it works.  As I said, the paint is not perfect and the Corbin seat shows wear, but it is a special old BMW that needs to be passed to another good home.

Please ask any questions you may have and thank you for looking.

2014 BMW R nineT Production Begins

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

The first production models of the BMW R nineT roadster have rolled off the assembly line in Berlin. The R nineT is a special model for BMW, representing the company’s 90 years in the motorcycle industry, so it’s no surprise the start of production was made with much fanfare. BMW invited 100 guests including the team from German customization studio Urban Motor to watch assembly of the first three units of the R nineT including the final dynamometer testing where more than 1,000 different parameters are measured before a motorcycle can be released.

BMW 1000RR and the Honda C70, are they indestructible?

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

I’ve managed 1374 miles on the Michelin Power Pures (mostly on track) and although we’ve had some decent temperatures they still look like new so there’s plenty meat left for another month at least. I’ve been running them at 30psi front and 32psi rear and find they warm up after a few miles but I wouldn’t say the temperature comes any quicker than any of the competition so it has to be four miles before I get brave. I’ve had a few out the seat moments with my BMW but I have got the rear suspension  set pretty hard (8 rebound,8 compression, two turns on pre load) and in slick mode, so 190bhp in first gear at the Knockhill hairpin is always going to be dodgy.
