BMW K-Series description

For sale is a 1987 BMW K75 that I've owned now for 6 months with 62000 miles on the odometer. I'm just the third owner of this bike. It got most of its miles from its first owner, who took the bike on a trip to the tip of South America. I've ran into a cash shortage and I can no longer take care of the bike, I have also other projects going on, hence the reason for selling.

In the last few months I have added a few new components to the bike in order to replace some old ones. It's got a new fuel pump (the last one kicked it), new battery, new starter relay, new back shock absorber, new back tire. This bike has been regularly maintained with a new oil and oil filter change just a few 100 miles ago. The last brake fluid, brake pads and coolant liquid change was performed about 9000 miles ago, which gives about another year or two before changing.

There are two things that need to be address on the bike. It's got a pesky electrical problem that I have not been able to figure out. The clutch will need to be replaced soon. The control panel will at times come in and out, with both the odometer and speedometer working intermittently, a problem that is very common in these bikes. All the other indicators work though.

Please email and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I have a very crazy schedule but we could figure something out if you're interested in coming to see the bike.

Included with the bike its a saddle bag that I've managed to salvage from it's previous owners. The other has a broken latch.

Shipping: You can either pick up the bike or I'm willing to deliver up to 50 miles from location.

Looking for a CBR250R or K1600GTL Forum?

Thu, 07 Apr 2011

Every year in the motorcycling world there are a few new motorcycles that gather the collective interest of enthusiasts across the country. This year those two models included the new entry-level sportbike from Honda, the CBR250R, and the new luxo-touring bike from BMW, the K1600GT and K1600GTL. While enthusiasts are gearing up for delivery of their new bikes there is a place for them to enthusiastically discuss their new purchase, or perhaps, for those who have not yet purchased, a sounding board for their thoughts.

Moto 3, Oral Engineering and the 2012 BMW S1000RR

Thu, 01 Mar 2012

KTM and Honda may have been the main players at recent Jerez Moto 3 test but GP newcomers, Oral Engineering, weren’t too far behind with our very own Danny Webb posting the 15th best time. Italian based Oral are supplying engines to Mahindra Racing (Danny & Marcel Schrotter) and Ambroggio Next Racing (Simone Grotzki & Giulian Pedone). Mahindra have their motor housed in an all new, Italian tubular steel chassis, while Ambroggio have gone down the more economic route of using their 2011 Aprilia RSW 125 chassis.

Tue, 25 Jun 2024

Expect Y-AMT on the MT-09 and other sporty streetbikes Yamaha announced a new automatic transmission system, joining the list of manufacturers introducing some form of electronic gear shifting technology following Honda, BMW, and KTM. The Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission (Y-AMT) system allows for quick shifting without the need for a manual clutch lever, with Yamaha claiming more consistently faster and precise shifting than the latest quickshifters currently available. Y-AMT isn’t Yamaha’s first foray into automatic shifting.
