BMW K-Series description

Cobalt Blue 1985 K100RS is excellent shape.   Runs well and comes with both touring and city bags.  New ECU and Michelin Pilots installed one year ago and have ridden about 3000miles.  Bike runs well and works except for for the one of the reserve lights.    I have toured with the bike and it keeps up with all or the modern machinery without a problem.   Legendary 4 cylinder motor that should keep running for years. For the money, there is no better deal.  If you find a 28 year old bike in better shape, buy it and enjoy.   Thanks for looking.

Charley Boorman’s BMW R1200 GS Adventure Stolen – and Recovered

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

Adventure touring documentary star Charley Boorman and his BMW R1200GS Adventure have traveled a long way together, but the motorcycle had a bit of an adventure on its own after thieves stole the bike. The stolen BMW wasn’t the one Boorman rode with Ewen McGregor in “Long Way Round” (that was a R1150GS Adventure) or the one used in the sequel “Long Way Down“. Boorman did ride it on his last project, “Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers: Canada”.

BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

Copper and leather BMW

Tue, 11 Sep 2012

This leather-coated BMW R51/3 bobber was created by its owner Hugo Ferraro, thanks to help from a Greek leathersmith, Elias Dairis. You either love it or can't stand it. The bike features a custom-made fuel tank, a leaf-spring front-end, standard wheels, a lighter crank and pistons and a hot cam.
