(I will have more photos shortly. Rig looks better in person than these photos--basically in showroom condition.) This 1985K100 sidecar rig is a total off-frame nut and bolt restoration. Over $6K in receipts. All screws and seals replaced. No rust. New tires, brakes, and upholstery. With only 22K miles on the bike, the engine is 100-percent rebuilt, in essence a new engine, with only 900 miles since rebuild. The professional black paint job is extra nice, no runs, and makes this rig
look new. This is an easy, comfortable and surprisingly powerful ride making 90 horsepower. Please check back for more photos. Road test after road test, I shamelessly fawn and toady over all these $30,000 motorcycles loaned to me by the masters of the universe who produce them… I do feel some guilt, but this is really the only job skill I’ve got. Thankfully, sometimes the motorcycle makes it really easy to gush, which is the case with BMW’s freshly overhauled K1600 line.
BMW K1600GT Named International Bike of the Year 2011
Thu, 19 Jan 2012The BMW K1600GT has been voted International Bike of the Year 2011 by a panel of motorcycle magazine journalists representing 25 publications from around the world. The six-cylinder BMW K1600GT received a score of 41 points from the jury to top all contenders. Second place went to the Ducati Diavel at 32 points.
2007-2008 BMW K1200R, K1200S Recalled for Foaming Brake Fluid
Tue, 16 Oct 2012BMW is issuing a recall on the 2007-2008 K1200S, K1200R and K1200R Sport models due to a problem with the front brake hydraulics. In long rides at high rpms, engine vibrations may cause the full front brake fluid to foam. This would occur at a very narrow rev range and only when the brake fluid reservoir is filled to maximum.
