BMW F-Series description

One owner (me) BMW F800GT with factory installed Akrapovic exhaust, side bags and top bag (top bag not shown in pictures, never used on bike and in storage). This bike has been no less than amazing (all records available at Max BMW in Troy, New York), under 4,000 total miles (3,820) and garage kept it's entire life. This is a terrific bike for beginners and experienced riders alike. Comfortable seating position, too. I'm selling it due to a pending move.

Includes Factory Upgrade Package:
Heated Hand Grips
Active Tire Pressure Monitoring
ABS Brakes
Automatic Stability Control (ASC)
Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA)
Advanced Instrumentation
Hard side and top bag system (factory)

Yamaha Joins the Automated Manual Transmission Club

Tue, 25 Jun 2024

Expect Y-AMT on the MT-09 and other sporty streetbikes Yamaha announced a new automatic transmission system, joining the list of manufacturers introducing some form of electronic gear shifting technology following Honda, BMW, and KTM. The Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission (Y-AMT) system allows for quick shifting without the need for a manual clutch lever, with Yamaha claiming more consistently faster and precise shifting than the latest quickshifters currently available. Y-AMT isn’t Yamaha’s first foray into automatic shifting.

Tested: Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact

Mon, 15 Mar 2010

With its clever Interact technology Metzeler has created a tyre that has a varying carcass construction to alter how the rubber performs. Without going too deeply the M5 consists of five bands of belting that vary in stiffness. At the outer edges of the tyre the carcass is quite flexible, allowing the rubber to move around and generate more heat and therefore grip, while nearer the tyre’s centre the carcass is stiffer, reducing the rubber’s movement and decreasing its wear.

How to destroy a GoPro

Wed, 14 Mar 2012

That scraping sound you can hear is a mixture of a knee slider and the GoPro camera housing grazing the tarmac at Mugello. The footage was shot on-board the BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent machine ridden by Hugo Marchand, in testing ahead of the 2012 Endurance World Championship. He managed to wreck the housing that holds the GoPro camera after only three laps.
