BMW R-Series description

CJ750 R71 clone. Based on 1938 BMW R71. Story is the original German tooling passed from Russians after WW2 to Chinese in the 50's. Chinese military used these 50's, 60,s Possibly longer. This Bike was purchased by me about 10 years ago in semi kit form. Looked like nos parts, o miles engine(i saw inside when building) Painted dark gray(panzer gray) I changed color of sidecar to match a 1941 zundapp that I had for a few years Good overall condition, some scratches and scuffs Runs good. This is 1930's technology so It does require tinkering.Kick and electric  start reverse gear Wheels came unassembled I had a bike shop put them together but they could probably use some more truing. A few spokes missing Bike is still very rideable and fun. They were not designed for highway speeds. Parts are available online. I have some manuals that come with bike and a cover for sidecar(tonneau) Transferrable nys registration, Registered as 1938 BMW. Mileage is what I have put on it since I acquired it. Odometer was at 0, and is working as is speedo, which is in kilometers

BMW R12 Trademark May Be for an R NineT Successor

Tue, 22 Nov 2022

BMW Motorrad to mark 100th anniversary in 2023 Earlier this year, reports emerged that BMW had filed trademark applications for “R12”, with many predicting the name would be used on a new cruiser. The logic made sense, as the naming structure was similar to the R18, and BMW lacked a cruiser model in the 1200-ish range. We were a little less bullish on that theory at the time, and we suspected there was more to the story.

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

Updates Coming for 2022 BMW K1600 Models

Tue, 05 Oct 2021

Euro 5 updates and more for six-cylinder K bikes The R18 Transcontinental and R18 Bagger have been getting a lot of attention lately, as BMW‘s foray into large-displacement cruiser touring segment. Getting somewhat lost, however, are BMW’s existing K1600 range, which used to be the company’s representatives in the touring category. While still part of BMW’s lineup, the six-cylinder models have not been updated since the 2017 model year, not even receiving any changes to meet Euro 5 standards that came into effect last year.
