BMW R-Series description

Beautiful 1977 R100
I have owned this for many years and have taken care of it. It has been garaged it's whole life.
Two years ago I replaced the push rod seals and the main engine seal. Everything is dry as it is suppose to be.
The 'S' fairing, mounts, volt meter, clock are genuine BMW products with the 'green' letter faces. Both work like new.
Last year I replaced the front brake master cylinder with a new one.
I have both side panels as I prefer not to rely on those awful rubber bands while riding.
Flanders S type low profile bars with the correct length cables.
The choke assembly and air box were converted to the newer airhead style for looks and functionality.
I have installed the rear power outlet as well as a front outlet. Take a look at the pictures.
The front crash bars are BMW as well as the rear luggage bag mounts.
The speedometer was replaced at 16,500 miles.
Included with the sale are two perfect BMW bags keyed to the ignition.

I replaced the valve covers with the /5 type 'peanut' style because I think they look better than the factory painted blank versions.

Bike is for sale locally and on some of the popular airhead sites so I may end the sale early.

Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

I encourage you to look at the pictures and ask questions.  This is a beautiful airhead that will make the next owner very happy.  If you buy the motorcycle and come pick it up in person, and it is not as you expected, I will refund your money.

Hi-Def video of BMW S1000RR on the dyno

Mon, 15 Mar 2010

THERE'S SOMETHING rather cruel about ringing the nuts out of any bike on a dyno - a bit like poking a lion through the bars of a cage with a long stick... Anyway, not quite sure where I'm going with that one, so here's a rather lovely clip of BMW's much-lauded S1000RR getting a stationary pasting on a dyno. Not sure I'd be standing at the rear, mind you.

2013 BMW R1200GS Deliveries Delayed to Fix Suspension Issue

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

BMW has reportedly delayed delivers of the revamped R1200GS in Italy to correct a problem with its Telelever front suspension. According to Motociclismo.it, BMW discovered a problem where the Telelever meets the steering plate. BMW reportedly has a fix, but it requires some special tooling.

2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.
