This motorcycle needs to used.  I have owned it 1988.  It came from “Cue” at House of Triumph in Elmsford NY with 68,000 miles on the clock..  It has always been my second bike, lightly used and garaged.  Weekend  rides have added about 6000 miles.  It now shows just over 74,000 miles.  In the fall of 2011 it underwent substantial mechanical restoration at Max BMW (Brookfield Ct)  which included rebuilding carburetors, draining and cleaning fuel tank, new brake pads and rotors at the front and new brake shoes at the rear,  new center stand, air filters, new throttle and choke cables,  new horns, new fluids (fork, brakes,  new top-end seals.  Total investment was $5100.  It has a fork brace, café faring, original grips, lots of tread on Metzler tires.  “Easy Clutch” is installed. (http://www.benchmarkworks.com/articles/howto/clutch.html ).  Bike is now in Stuart Florida.

Located in New Orleans, Louisiana 31,562 original miles.   A rare bike and increasingly sought after as only 1000 of them ever made it to the US Widely considered to be the best handling bike BMW ever made.   It handles well on pavement as well as the dirt and is sufficiently nimble. Bike is running and in good condition. Paint is all original with minor scratches and typical fading.  Clear title.

Very clean and original touring model with only 7,000 miles!  The bike was recently acquired from the original owner who has retired from riding.  Original owner had the frame, wheels and miscellaneous mounting brackets professionally repainted/powder coated.

Possibly the most dependable fun to ride bike that BMW made.  It completely gone over by the BMW dealer in Grand Rapids.  New battery new Master cyl, tuned up ready to ride.  I would not be afraid to take this bike anywhere.  I have put 100,000  miles on R65's starting in 1978 and never had a problem.  I would not be selling this bike but I am disabled and have to move to a trike. The bike fell down at a gas station and the odometer broke. So, the mileage has to be listed as unknown  It read 27,000 miles at that time and has not been used much since.  delivery is on you but if you live in Michigan I will bring it to you for free, probably drive it if I can.  I honestly think this is the best open bike ever made and is just plain fun to drive.

1983 BMW 800cc air head built to shred the mountain roads, it's tuned perfect, the carbs have been rejeted for the header. It started life as a R/80rt & had a full fairing so a lot of weigh has been removed, it's less than 400lbs now and has a great power to weight ratio and real good balance due to the low center of gravity with it's boxer engine and with it's dual Brembo brakes it stops on a dime. Everything has been replaced all wearable rubber boots, seals, bearings, even the rubber trim rings on the tach & speedo, neck bearings, fork seals, new customs shocks, 2in1 exhaust header, new over sized tires and lots of little extras..

Up for auction is a 1983 model R65 BMW motorcycle. It has spent lots of its time in a garage or storage. It has not been regularly ridden for the last two years, but the engine, gearbox, drive shaft, and final drive oils; the front brake fluid; and the front brake pads were all changed a few weeks ago.

You are bidding on one 1983 BMW R100RT running project bike with only 10,298 miles. I got this bike from a friend of mine who had purchased it from an elderly gentleman. The bike did not come with a title, so I purchased a separate frame (the frame is a 1981 model RT-VIN 6232665) with clear title in order to rebuild the bike onto the titled frame.

This is your chance to own the world famous, award winning "Stealth Beemer" Featured in the BMW MOA magazine 8/'94. I've owned it since 1985 and hate to see it go. But I just don't ride anymore and it deserves to be on the road gathering bugs and miles. Not tucked in the corner of the garage covered in dust and shame.

Question of the Day: Single-sided or Double-Sided Swingarms

Tue, 06 Aug 2024

The classic form versus function debate A couple of weeks ago, Ducati pulled the covers off its seventh-generation superbike, the 2025 Panigale V4 and V4 S. The new Panigale introduced a number of changes to the engine, chassis and electronics, aimed at pushing the performance envelope even further. There was one particular change that we knew was going to be polarizing: the change from a single-sided swingarm to a double-sided swingarm.

The 390 Adventure Project Upgrades and Adjustments

Wed, 10 Jul 2024

Following in the wake of the Biltwell 100 race, my confidence in the 390 Adventure and my ability to pilot it for long stretches off-road soared. The ability to combine the technical skills I learned in the ATX Moto Adventuresand Sedlak Off Road classes, along with some good old-fashioned seat time, really paid off. In addition, there were two changes I made to the bike that firmly cemented my trust in piloting it through the sketchy sandy trails a custom lowered seat from Seat Concepts, and some aggressive knobby tires.

MV Agusta Chairman Hubert Trunkenpolz Interview Part One

Wed, 26 Jun 2024

Back in the Black Photos by Fabio Polimeni In November 2022 Italian trophy brand MV Agusta, wholly owned since 2019 by Russian entrepreneur Timur Sardarov and his family, and Pierer Mobility AG KTMs parent company reached an agreement on future strategic cooperation, as a result of which the Austrian firm headed by Stefan Pierer would acquire a 25.10% stake in MV Agusta via its KTM AG subsidiary. At the first meeting of the newly constituted MV Agusta board on November 15, a capital increase of 30 million was agreed, denoting the sum KTM had paid to acquire its new minority shareholding in the company. As part of this strategic alliance KTM took charge of purchasing all components needed to manufacture MV Agustas entire range of models, as well as responsibility for marketing, distribution and after-sales service for MV Agusta on a global basis outside Italy.
