Here is a chance to own a beautiful, very dependable and comfortably ride-able piece BMW history for substantially less than purchasing a project bike and doing all the work, or paying to have it done. This vintage motorbike has triple-matching numbers, with all necessary ownership papers and with all receipts for major work performed on engine, transmission, wheels (with stainless spokes), brake work and whatever else a prudent buyer of such a machine would concern themselves with. Starts on first kick, dead-cold and without even engaging the choke system and is a joy to ride.

This R-27 has been in our family for over 45 years. I had Kevin Brooks at Brooks Motor Works in Washington do a frame off restoration that cost over $9,000 and I have ridden it only 600 miles since then. The bike is the last of the seven vintage BMW motorcycles that I have owned and I am only selling now because I am leaving on an open ended sailing trip around the world and it is time to sell everything I own.

R60/2 1965 BMW 39,200 miles all matching numbers— for sale is my exceptional and original R60/2, this motorcycle is an absolute joy to ride as it runs flawlessly. I purchased the R60/2 in 2011 from an older gentlemen in Pennsylvania who only rode it in parades, he maintained it mechanically and always keeping it garaged.  the engine is strong and has been meticulously maintained with regular engine oil changes, transmission, and final drive. it has always been garaged and never sat with a spec of dirt on it, nor ridden in a rainstorm.

I have here a 1965 R50/2. It sat for close to 20-25 years in a bard(yes barn find) the previous owner loved this bike and was his pride and joy. I purchased about a month ago and have spent most of my time cleaning her up, having carbs rebuilt, gas tank cleaned out(although not sure I completely liked how they did it, and it was the first time I used this company.

Question of the Day: Single-sided or Double-Sided Swingarms

Tue, 06 Aug 2024

The classic form versus function debate A couple of weeks ago, Ducati pulled the covers off its seventh-generation superbike, the 2025 Panigale V4 and V4 S. The new Panigale introduced a number of changes to the engine, chassis and electronics, aimed at pushing the performance envelope even further. There was one particular change that we knew was going to be polarizing: the change from a single-sided swingarm to a double-sided swingarm.

Fri, 12 Jul 2024

The middleweight GS gets a significant performance boost Despite having been around the longest, BMW’s middleweight machines haven’t been leading the pack since the current adventure craze took off. As of late, the F 800/850 haven’t been top of the performance heap on-road or off. BMW aims to change that with its all-new F 900 GS.

The 390 Adventure Project – Upgrades and Adjustments

Wed, 10 Jul 2024

Following in the wake of the Biltwell 100 race, my confidence in the 390 Adventure and my ability to pilot it for long stretches off-road soared. The ability to combine the technical skills I learned in the ATX Moto Adventures and Sedlak Off Road classes, along with some good old-fashioned seat time, really paid off. In addition, there were two changes I made to the bike that firmly cemented my trust in piloting it through the sketchy sandy trails – a custom lowered seat from Seat Concepts, and some aggressive knobby tires.

MV Agusta Chairman Hubert Trunkenpolz Interview – Part One

Wed, 26 Jun 2024

Back in the Black Photos by Fabio Polimeni In November 2022 Italian trophy brand MV Agusta, wholly owned since 2019 by Russian entrepreneur Timur Sardarov and his family, and Pierer Mobility AG – KTM’s parent company – reached an agreement on ‘future strategic cooperation’, as a result of which the Austrian firm headed by Stefan Pierer would acquire a 25.10% stake in MV Agusta via its KTM AG subsidiary. At the first meeting of the newly constituted MV Agusta board on November 15, a capital increase of €30 million was agreed, denoting the sum KTM had paid to acquire its new minority shareholding in the company. As part of this strategic alliance KTM took charge of purchasing all components needed to manufacture MV Agusta’s entire range of models, as well as responsibility for marketing, distribution and after-sales service for MV Agusta on a global basis outside Italy.
