This Motorcycle has been in the family for about 26 years. It has about 36,000 miles and counting. I have the lower pieces to the fairing but I don't have the hardware.

Engine is a 1975 R90 with the "sport" 336 camshaft, new high compression pistons, all new bearings, new bmw clutch, lightened flywheel, dual plug heads, dyna coils and electronic ignition, new battery, 32mm Mikuni carburators, deep sump oil pan. Odometer has stopped rolling over but speedo and tach work. Cobbled together reverse pattern shifter. Tires were new in 2008 and have less than 50 miles on them.

1978 BMW R100S with close to 35k milesthis a great bike that would make a nice addition for any collector, or a great daily driver or sport touring motorcycle.I just recently took it on a 600 mile trio through several state parks in southern Utah and he handled like a champ. plenty of power. I have had several other BMW airheads and this one is by far the smoothest and fastest. the speedometer stopped working when i purchased it and the previous owner said it was close to 32k miles I have replaced the original speedometer from one off a R100rt and everything works except the back light. it might just need a bulb.there are a few minor scratches on the lower right hand side of the motorcycle tank and some light cracks on the top of the fairing from being over tightened by the previous owner.the bike has custom mufflers that have been tuned beautifully and have a nice mean sound without being too loud, and they don't backfire!brand new AGM style battery that has tons of cca for turning the 1000cc engine overcomes with factory tire pump that is located under the seatboth hard bags and bracketsthe original seat has been upholstered in a nice black fabric and has 2 hidden storage compartments.tires are goodbrakes are goodoil was just changedand only has a small leak about the size of a penny on the ground if left sitting for a while.

You are bidding on a nice and very original numbers matching 1978 BMW R 80/7 motorcycle This motorcycle was pickled (all fluids drained) and stored in a garage in North Florida for over 12 years. Originally purchased in Germany by owner who was in the military so it has the kilometer speedometer instead of reading miles. Shows only 16,400 kilometers or 10,160 miles, and the condition and how it runs tells the story. It is all original except for the battery, tires and front brake hose which I replaced. It was missing and I added one of the side gas tank BMW emblems which does not have the clear factory coating. It is very nice with a few scratches and a small crack in the plastic fairing as has been pictured. The inside of the gas tank is in like new condition with its original red coating. Everything works as it should, the tires are over 10 years old and believed to date back to 2005 but have very little wear. It could use new mufflers and front shocks are a little stiff. Needs a good cleaning and detailing. The bike was first titled in the USA in April 2013 under my name and I am the second owner. I have owned it for about 3 years and only rode it about 230 kilometers since August 2013. Very original and nice motorcycle for the serious collector looking for originality and low miles. Original factory paint and pinstriping. Missing the tool box and tool kit. It comes with its original German issue owners manual which is somewhat weathered from humidity but pages are readable. Up for bids is a 1980 BMW R100RT 1000cc boxer sport touring twin. This machine was brought into our shop for an oil change by a customer who had just purchased it. Sadly, the customer died while the bike was here......it wasn't here THAT long. Has had the following done recently within 20 miles or so: New Dunlop D404 tires & tubes; 100/90/19 front; 110/90/18 rear; $301.00 combined retail New Brown (brand) side stand; $160 retail Oil & filter change; $45.00 combined retail New aftermarket wind screen We looked over the bike quickly in order to prepare for selling it. It needs: Rear shocks shot.....will INCLUDE a believed to be good used pair off the same model Rear brake disc and left front brake disc are worn Will need a battery but we jumped it and were able to ride the machine Seems to run and drive OK, engine sounds good Krauser bags in decent shape, but WILL NOT FIT because the mufflers have been changed to aftermarket and they're too high We have the lower center fairing piece that is missing in the picture. The bike also has a Reynolds ride-off centerstand and a Reynolds rear rack with Krauser trip trunk. We also have the original right-hand inner fairing pocket lid. Has aftermarket pocket lids. Had a radio in the left pocket at one time and there is a hole drilled in the fairing for an antenna. The bike has a lot of scuffs and scratches, but nothing major is broken. We're selling this machine AS IS WHERE IS and it would make a great restoration, cafÃ© or bobber project. The reserve is low and very fair for what this machine is. 1980 BMW R100S Exklusiv Exclusive Sport Original RARE Low Miles (1980)
ID of this rare BMW came from Tom Cutter who was employed by BMW US Importer Butler & Smith as their head technician and a Team BMW member. By phone conversation Tom told me he helped open the cargo container on a snowy Oct day 1979 which held the silver blue striped Exclusive Sport models. He stated the container had only 30 of these imported to the USA. He said very rare bike and asked if I was riding it. I said yes I did ride it he stated he wouldn't be! Main reason so few BMW were imported is in 1980 is it was the transition year between Butler and Smith and then BMWNA, imports were so low that was actually their lowest sales year in modern times. The multi blue stripe pattern Tom believed is likely copied from the Butler & Smith BMW 1978 Superbike racers. By a German info contact in 1979 the limited edition silver and triple tone blue R100S Exclusive Exklusiv Sport was designed by Walter Maurer from Dachau near Munich. The model also included chrome shock bodies black springs, polished aluminum fork sliders, carb covers & rear drive housing. This R100S is NOT a Lufthansa Airlines or Airliner pattern or color design as Internet rumors have evolved, these claims are false! It took 11 months of research to establish this information. When I purchased this R100S 7/13 it had 7800 miles now 8665 mi.,. Seat is in great condition soft and comfortable, all paint scratches are visible in images. Hand control info text/decals are in nice condition with all gauges including clock functioning. When new it had dealer installed optional high capacity deep oil pan as list on receipt. Original windscreen. Only con is the transmission has a false neutral only when down shifting from 4th to 3rd gears. I have the original take-off Continental tires included with bike. Collector could remount them and display as original stock. Has new Deka battery and 800 miles on a set of Shinko tires. This R100S came from original owner. Comes with ABT of Chicago sales receipt, water resistant tool container with cover, tools & pouch, owners manual, air pump, tire/tyre repair kit, front wheel locking cable, BMW shop rag and BMW service pamphlet. Last few images are of original tires mounted from last July 2012. The rusty R100S Exclusive Sport is the only image I have found of one in the USA. There are some fakes with painted on strips one I know from Canada. Checkout my feedback it show 100% for over 1,000 auctions. We’ve heard that refrain a lot over the years, and it’s no different for the NT1100 sport-tourer. Introduced in Europe in 2022, the NT1100 is a sport-touring model that shares much of its bones with the CRF1100L Africa Twin.

The Svartpilen 801 has a new roadster-styled sibling, as Husqvarna announces the new “White Arrow” Vitpilen 801. Like the Black Arrow, the Vitpilen adopts the 799cc LC8c Parallel-Twin of the KTM 790 Duke, offering yet a new option to the shared platform. Ryan Adams recently reviewed the Svartpilen 801 and found it a “worthy contender in the market that brings its own unique style alongside proven performance.” That theme continues with the new Vitpilen, which brings its own take, with more aggressive ergonomics and a bright splash of color in yellow (a silver color is also available if you prefer something less flashy).

Anniversary edition will likely be revealed Oct. 17 Ducati is partnering with Rizmoa to prepare a special edition Scrambler to commemorate ten years since its debut in 2015. The confirmation comes to us via the California Air Resources Board, which has issued an updated executive order for the 2025 Ducati Scrambler range, adding a Scrambler 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition.

Bosch Announces Next-Generation Radar-Based Safety Systems

Four of the six new systems will debut on a new KTM in November Bosch announced six next-generation radar-based rider assistance systems that it claims could help make motorcycling safer and more comfortable. These six systems – five of which Bosch claims to be world-firsts – offer a step beyond radar-based adaptive cruise control. Bosch also confirmed that four of the systems (all involving forward-facing radar sensors) will debut on a new model from KTM that is set to debut in November.
