Cleaning out the garage - I'm downsizing to a condominium and the bikes have to go. I am the 2nd owner of this bike which I bought in 2004 from a private party with 4K miles on it. I added the BMW right & left system cases and wider & taller windscreen from Wunderlich. It has normal wear & tear but no damage (never been down) and everything works as it should. It's due for new tires (last new set went on 7K miles ago); still some tread there but I did have to plug a hole in the rear recently so it's a good idea to replace both. 2004 BMW R1150R non-ABS oil head twin cylinder fuel injected six speed shaft driven motorcycle in good condition runs , rides , shifts just like it should the only thing that does not work is the horn .(and this riders knees) I am the second owner I got it in july this year from the original owner I gave $5500 for it. There is nothing wrong with it ( except for the horn) the problem is me, I sold my XR650L this spring because my knees would not allow me to throw a leg over it anymore (Too Tall ) so I bought this to replace it, But it's just a tad to heavy for the knees I'm afraid I'm going to drop it ( and myself ) when getting off it so before I destroy it I figured I'd try to sell it I know it's late in the season to sell so I'm pricing it to move so I don't have to store it this winter. Brought to California after a death in the family. Titled and registered in California, after finding how to locate a hidden engine number for our impossible DMV. From photos, you see bike has been well maintained over the years, and what it sold for less than 3 years ago. I've been riding since 1970 and find this BMW 1200 to be just as smooth and powerful as any of my other sport bikes (1100 Yamaha's and Honda's and one 1200 Harley Sportster). But, it's too tall for me. My loss. I bought this bike with 11k on it back in 2010, most all of the miles are on road freeway miles, it runs great, no oil burn, fresh valve adjustment, BMW just did a service update free and replaced the fuel pump, it pulls very strong, Custom Paint (matte anthracite grey), new wheel bearings in front, freshly tuned and balanced wheel by Woodys wheel works in CO. Have rebuild-able Wilbur shocks both front and rear on it, pivot pegz, new tires, throttle lock cruise control and mechanically works great. 2005 BMW R1200 GS with 27,000 miles. I have owned this bike for approximately 6 years and I have put 10,000 miles on it. I purchased the bike in 2009 from a Delta Airlines pilot who had owned it since new and maintained the bike perfectly. I now own 3 BMW motorcycles and can only ride one at a time, so I am selling this bike. All fluids were replaced two months ago and I just replaced the battery also. The bike has newer tires with less than 2,000 miles of light use. Bike has never been down. The bike's computer acted up 2 years ago and BMW replaced the computer and installed the most current software. The bike pulls hard and has impeccable balance and is effortlessly maneuverable. The Adventure version also gets these new options as well as new choices to lower the seat height. The 2015 GS receives the heavier crankshaft introduced on the 2014 R1200GS Adventure and R1200RT.

Fri, 04 Jul 2014BMW is updating its big six-cylinder touring bikes with traction control as standard equipment and a number of new optional add-ons including keyless remote ignition. Previously available as part of BMW’s factory-installed Safety Package option, the Dynamic Traction Control system will now be standard on all 2015 K1600GT and K1600GTL models. The system continuously monitors rear wheel traction during acceleration, stepping in when it senses excessive wheel spin.

The 2015 BMW K1300S Motorsport comes with a new Black Storm Metallic, Light White and Lupine Blue Metallic color scheme, with a bit of red striping for good measure. A band of black running across the top of the bike from nose to tank to tail is complemented by a tinted windscreen.
2014 BMW R1200RT Officially Recalled in US
Thu, 03 Jul 2014BMW has officially recalled the 2014 R1200RT in the U.S., after the company released a worldwide warning to customers about a potential defect with the rear suspension system. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the piston rod on the R1200RT’s Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) rear shock absorber may break without warning. The problem was first discovered April 1 after a warranty claim was filed in France.

Riding the S1000RR, Dunlop secured BMW its first win on the Isle of Man since Georg Meier won on a Type 255 Kompressor in 1939. After catching early leader James Hillier of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team on the opening lap, Dunlop continued to set an impressive first lap time of 17:11.107, which translates to a record average speed of 131.730 mph on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.

BMW C650GT and C600 Sport Recalled for Faulty Timing Chain Tensioner
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW has initiated a recall on 2012-2014 C600 Sport and C650GT scooters because of a problem with their timing chain tensioners. As of this writing, recalls have been announced in Canada and Germany but not for the U.S., though we expect the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will announce a similar recall shortly.
