BMW Reportedly Developing 450cc Racebike

Italian website Motociclismo.it reports BMW is working on a new 450cc racebike to be used in youth racing series at select rounds other World Superbike Championship and the British Superbike Championship. According to the report, the new track-only sportbike will use a 450cc single-cylinder engine, likely the Husqvarna-developed version of the engine used in the BMW G450X. The engine will be mounted in an all-new chassis with racing suspension, wheels and carbon fiber fairing.

Vines motorcycle scrappage

  Following this year’s earlier Budget announcement about the government’s car scrappage scheme, Vines of Guildford BMW has created a similar scheme for motorcycles. As well as enjoying this benefit on the purchase price of a new BMW bike, riders can also look forward to complimentary panniers with all new R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models, and complimentary Zumo sat nav system with the new R1200RT until 30 Sept, plus access to BMW’s Select Finance options to get riders on their bikes straight away with the option to change their new bike every two to three years.

Turn your BMW into a fire engine

German fire engine and pump manufacturer Rosenbauer have utilised the ubiquitous BMW 1200 boxer engine to produce a powerful and lightweight water pump.  The engine runs as normal, using it's torqey qualities to power the high pressure waterpump attached.  Firefighters can carry this compact pump closer to the fire, and go where the normal fire engine cannot reach.
