BMW Makes ABS Standard Across Entire Lineup

BMW announced it will make anti-lock brakes standard equipment across its entire lineup starting with the 2013 model year. The German manufacturer became the first to introduce ABS into serial production motorcycles in 1988 and now 25 years later, BMW will be the first to offer ABS across all of its models. BMW has already announced two 2013 models that will come with ABS, the updated F800GS and the F700GS.

BMW is offering a set of complimentary panniers with the purchase of any new R 1200 GS motorcycle registered between 01 June and 30 September 2010 to celebrate the GS's 30th Anniversary.The offer covers both the standard R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure machines, as well as the special-edition 30 Year Anniversary R 1200 GS and Adventure models.The company's Vario Panniers, worth £506.57, will be offered (given) to anyone buyingthe R 1200 GS, and a pair of Aluminium Panniers, worth £665.45, to new GS Adventure owners.

BSB Superstock Championship Winning BMW S1000RR Stolen

British Superbike racer Richard Cooper’s BMW S1000RR racebike was stolen mere hours after winning the 2011 British national Superstock title. Thieves reportedly broke into the Buildbase BMW race team’s truck after it returned to the team’s base in Leicestershire, England, from the series-clinching round at Britain’s Silverstone circuit. According to the team, thieves optained the keys to a van holding Cooper’s winning motorcycle and Superbike class racer John Laverty’s BMW S1000RR Superbike.
