BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
The brutal Summer heat is over! The best riding season for touring
through the Texas Hill Country is just beginning. Wind through the
landscape on the best touring machine available. Silver 2008 BMW
R1200RT. Well FARKLED! Under 38000 miles. This is the best handling
bike I've ridden. Take this through an ERC, and you will handle the
course better than bikes half the size. A perfect commuting bike at
only just north of 500lbs. Or run down 1431 for a spirited sprint to
dinner in Marble Falls. Then pack the saddle bags and the trunk, and
head out to the (far away) coast for a run up HWY 101. This ride will
eat up the miles. Here's some of the features:
electric adjustable wind screen. Heated grips and saddle. Wiring and controls for heated garments (sounds odd in Texas - but makes the January rides comfortable as well as fun). Garmin 550 Zumo GPS keeps you on track. Radar scanner to alert you to "bears". OEM Low saddle. OEM Standard heated saddles. Moto-Lights additional driving lights. Hyper-lites integrated flashing brake lights and LED turn signals. Cylinder head guards. Additional bar-mounted mirrors. Brake pedal extension. 49-Liter Top Case and a 28-liter Top Case for those lighter loads. TPMS system. On board computer. Electronic Suspension Adjustment. Cruise control. The Bad: TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) Sensor for rear wheel is not working. Easy replacement when the rear tire is replaced next. Slight scratches on hard bags from boots mounting and dismounting. |

Thu, 27 Jan 2022BMW's second-gen maxi-scooter is an impressive machine With no US publications invited to Barcelona for the BMW CE 04 introduction (that we know of), we enlisted Friend of MO Bertand Gahel to give us his thoughts on BMW’s second generation urban electric scooter. He didn’t disappoint. —Ed.
