BMW R-Series description

I'm selling my 2008 R1200R with a little over 9500 miles on it. It is in excellent condition, and I'm selling it because I am no longer able to ride it. Reluctantly parting with it, hoping that a new owner will enjoy it as much as I have.

This bike is single-owner, has been garage kept and ridden lightly. Dealer-serviced every spring until summer 2015. Latest revision done at Motorworks Chicago on June 30th 2015, all previous service records are in the owner's logbook. Clear IL title with all original paperwork, including manuals for bike and extras. Ridden recently and rides great!

The bike comes with a few extras:
  • Two seats: original factory seat and tall seat (Wunderlich)
  • ABS option
  • BMW Front Fairing and sport windshield
  • Rear BMW rack
  • Rear BMW hard case
  • Heated grips

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Max Biaggi won the opening race to the 2012 World Superbike Championship while defending champion Carlos Checa came back from a high-speed crash in the first race to win the second at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. Reigning champion Checa of Althea Ducati had a stunning high-side crash while leading on the sixth lap of Race One. The WSBK paddock was already in shock with the death of 17-year-old Oscar McIntyre in the Superstock 600 race the day before but thankfully Checa was not seriously injured.

BMW has launched an all-new adventure suit and gloves called the GS Dry, designed to complement its GS range of adventure motorcycles, and has also updated its adventure boots and off-road helmet for 2013. Here's the skinny from BMW:   GS Dry Suit: The all-new GS Dry Suit is ideally suited to new and younger riders; offering traditional BMW Motorrad design, comfort and safety and, above all, fantastic value for money. Crafted from breathable, tough Cordura 500 fabric, the GS Dry Suit is ready to take on any weather and terrain, featuring a wind and waterproof C.A.R.E Climate membrane and BMW Motorrad’s own NP protectors. Further small, but welcome, design touches include stretch inserts, air vents, reflective panels, leather paneling on high-wear areas on the legs and a selection of internal and external waterproof pockets. The GS Dry Suit, available in a selection of colours and sizes for both men and women, costs £750.  GS Dry Glove: New for 2013 is the GS Dry Glove, a hybrid textile/leather blend with the outstanding Gore-Tex X-Trafit membrane. MINI Scooter E Concept Revealed

Thu, 23 Sep 2010

MINI has just officially revealed not one, but two of its MINI Scooter E Concepts that will officially debut at the Paris Auto Show next week. Created to bring together a youth-oriented lifestyle element and sustainable mobility, the scooters take significant design cues from the MINI lineup of cars while using a lithium-ion battery pack to deliver guilt-free mobility. Making the MINI E Scooter Concept almost excessively hip is its smartphone integration, where the owner’s iPod or similar device acts as the actual key for the scooter, clicking into a central docking station between the handlebars.
